Let's all just agree that CG's wedding had more production planning than this episode of the Bachelor.
CG...did you fry a CPU or hard drive with wedding plans?
I'm thinking more Tuesday through Wednesday. With basketball game days off when they fall on either.
Ha, nope. I did have a kick *** spreadsheet with the costs though. I mostly kept random written to-do lists and one in Word. I kept a lot of that stuff in my head.
Oh, I did have one of those wedding books that I didn't use that much and a notebook that I did use a lot to take to meetings.
Talking about work, I have 979 folder names to enter into a database, someone come do this for me. I've given you a 22 count head start. I think it would be easier for me to just never die or need a vacation at the wrong time of the month than it would be to set things up so someone can do my ****.
Do you do this a lot? Is this a common thing for your job? You can easily setup a ****** that will automatically take the name of the folder and put it into a database. Especially if the database is like a MS Access or Excel one.
no, this will be a one-time thing. Believe me, if we could automate it, we would. It's a bit like how people here call me Brooklyn but my name is Cowgirl836, you know? Or matching up a folder called Ihavenocycash to Cy$. I have to pull data from what we'll call "customers" but my program limited the folder name I extracted it to to 8 characters. So everything is abbreviated in a way that I knew I would remember who that folder belonged to. And names changed over time but I didn't update the folder name cause I knew that VikesFanForever is now Vikes5fan. Now I need to get that knowledge out of my head and into something so someone else can come in and know that new data from "Brooklyn" goes into the "Cowgirl836" folder. Because we don't want them to just create a new folder that essentially duplicates data already in existence.
We're basically doing this so more things can be automated for me going forward. Eventually.
I'm more than a little bit concerned about exactly what information you are documenting on all of us now. :wideeyed:

On the topic of Nader, his first name is Abdel. Isn't it supposed to be pronounced Ab-dell, not Ab-dool? I think every announcer I've heard this year pronounces it like Abdul.
I managed to get it installed....and then the new WoW expansion dropped so what little gaming time I've had has been devoted to that. Being single and not ready to date again yet has made me somewhat 40 year old virgin sad esque.
Got 103 done before lunch, wonder how many I can get the rest of the afternoon. I'm leaving in two hours......then workout and try to figure out how to watch the volleyball game at the same time.
There was a debate about that on another thread. I was on your side, but then I heard CFH pronounce it abDULL (about halfway between dell & dool) on the post-game radio show. Now I'm not sure. I would think he knows how to pronounce the name, you know?
