Oakland gives us a better game then Georgia st, and Niang has a bad game. alot of weapons with more to come!

We were preparing for Ga State before the Oakland game I think. And Niang was their focus on defense.

Didn't watch a ton of the opener, but seemed like Oakland's big was a legit guy. Probably had a more rounded team that matched up better with ISU. Hoping Oakland can surprise a bit and turn into a moderately decent win.

Imo Oakland losing by 12 (iirc) to Eastern Michigan tonight is surprising. With a play-making pg like Felder teamed with a big, skilled center that we did not have the size to stop I could see Oakland having more dimensions, and thus being a bigger challenge. I was pretty impressed with Felder and Petros. However, then they lose to EMU by more than what we beat them by.

It will be interesting to see how the Georgia St- Oakland game plays out.

Margin of victory does not matter much when you pull your starters with 4 to go. That could have been a +20 point win.

Of course. No one is making any commentary on comparing ISU to EMU based on the two scores. The point was Oakland lost to EMU by 12. That erodes thinking Oakland was undervalued with Felder and Petros, and puts most of the blame on our defense in that game.

Told my coworker that first part. I don't think there was too much game planning for Oakland. I think GA State prep started before the Oakland game.

- Oakland was the first real game
- Everyone on the team seemed to realize the defensive effort we had against Oakland wasn't going to cut it, and that increased focus on defense was evident tonight.
- We were more focused on the GSU game: everyone was well aware of the talented athletes on GSU's team, and that they had the ability to take us down if we didnt bring it.

Wasn't that what everyone already thought anyway?

Fran just called to get the name of the team Georgia State beat by 60+ in their first game....

Yeah, last season he had about 6 out-to-lunch games.

He also probably had about 4 meh games.

He had about 12 "big contributor" games.

Last, but not least, he had about 12 "stone-cold killer" games.

I like the percentages.

Monte said he has been watching a lt of film on Harrow for over a week I the post game. Pretty much confirms that.

Let's not forget we were up 20 with a couple minutes to go against Oakland. We took the starters out and the subs gave up 8-9 points within two minutes.

But the second half against Georgia State. Wow. If we can play like that most of the year, look out.
