To help clarify for those that have jumped off the deep edge over this comment -
Wayne Morgan - player's coach
Larry Eustachy - not a player's coach - did earn respect from those that could handle him
Tim Floyd - not a player's coach, but did get great respect from players that earned it
If you look in the NCAA Tournament, I don't think you would find any of the coaches as being buddy-buddy to the players - that is exactly what the assistants are for and why Wayne is such a good assistant and recruiter as opposed to a head coach.
Think of it this way - as a parent, during your child's formative years, should you be your child's best friend, or should you be their parent?
