I have very rarely booed my own team in any sport/league in-person, however would do so under the following conditions:
1) Poor coaching/manager decision
2) A classless move by one of my team's players/coaches
3) A player/coach obviously not trying
I will also boo the refs for bad calls or the other team (mostly for classless moves or players/coaches I don't like.)
As a fan, when I attend games, I'd like to see my team put an effort into the game. I'm putting forth the effort and money to attend the game, I expect my team to put effort into the game. I also agree with negativity towards the boo-birds when I hear booing at bad plays (meaning where a player tried and screwed up) or when a player got injured. It sickened me as a Cubs fan hearing the booing over mere strikeouts in past years when the players definitely weren't trying to do that.
