If I really gotta be honest, it's really not moving the needle for me, either...I found out about it only from the hubbub on here since I was offline from Friday night until Sunday afternoon...at some point, the only fascination with these chicks is that they're famous. I mean, part of me is enjoying the fact that they've based their lives on 'being seen', and now that's coming back on them, but that's not an enjoyment I'm proud admitting.

I just feel terrible for them. Female public figure? Your body is a public commodity. Everyone feels it's their right to view your personal and private pictures/messages/whatever that you did not consent to the public viewing.

You know...I'm sitting here saying that it's not moving the needle for me, but then I look over at the missus who's shopping for a wall clock on Amazon and has a cold and has resorted to just leaving a kleenex hanging out of her nose, and maybe I could use a few celebrity nudes.

:rolleyes::no:

This is like the Erin Andrews situation to me. Wrong. Just wrong.

But shouldn't Apple catch hell for this too? Nice security, A-holes.

I wouldn't say it's a right, but any time you do that, you do it knowing that there's a chance it can get out, famous person or not. Heck, I wouldn't be shocked if my own tube steak isn't out there on the internet somewhere. Lord knows, as every young enough person, I've taken enough pictures and texted them.

OK, while I agree with the bolded part, the statement that "your body is a public commodity" is 100% caused by their actions. They treat their bodies like public commodities. Their biggest problem with these leaks is that they can't monetize it for their benefit. Don't get me wrong, the leaks are wrong, but you can't be okay with how Miley Cyrus acts on a normal basis and be outraged at pervs hacking her pics.

to me it's like saying you deserved or should have expected to be robbed if you forgot to lock one window. Some of these women thought they had deleted those photos. Of course it seems they didn't know about the automatic cloud backups, but that still doesn't mean it's fine for someone else to go in and take them and pass them around. Of course people are going to look, I'm not knocking on that. It's the posting about it, linking it, promoting it, and not-so-subtle victim-blaming going along with it.

I don't think anyone has said they deserve it. Nobody deserves it. But when you do it, you do it knowingly that it's a chance you take. Being famous increases that chance exponentially.

I don't care how they treat their own bodies. That's their decision. Fairly certain most of these women didn't previously have nudes out there.
