we are building a house next spring. I cannot think of a worse combination than a pregnant me + a house-building me. The amount of research and decisions I'd be trying to make would probably make my head explode. Plus I'm sure the stress would make me unpleasant to be around. DH would not allow this to happen.
We did a very large home renovation the last three months of my wife's pregnancy last year. Three months of using the basement as the kitchen/living room/dining room/family room/office/man cave with a very pregnant wife, a puppy and a 10 year old daughter. It was quite an experience to say the least.

yeah that seems like a bad time. Another coworker had her third today - and they built their house during the 2nd pregnancy, and were trying to sell it during this one - she was cleaning and packing at 8 months pregnant. Not my idea of a fun time!

We moved when the wife was 5 months pregnant, it was great for her, no lifting.

Got asked from a company if I had any other offers and from which companies and their deadlines.

Is that kosher? I can give them the deadlines for my other offers but the company names too?

I don't think it's that odd, but it's a bit ballsy imo. It sound like they are fishing for information to give them leverage when dealing with salary negotiations.

Did you provide the names? If not, tell them they need to contact your agent, Scott Boras, for those details

There are sooooo many times that the phrase "Suck it up, buttercup" would work perfectly on someone.

that was my thought. Why is that something they need to know? Their deadline and salary shouldn't be dependent on who else has offered you. I would probably say that I would prefer not to divulge that information.

OK, at the risk of vaguebooking, I might be getting some good news as far as my job goes, but I don't want to mention, since it might not happen, but let's say I could use some good vibes coming my way.

Good luck getting first shift!

Yeah, so Monday I was on my way to work contemplating whether I should start looking for a different job...I love my job and I make good enough money, but starting in a couple weeks, I pretty much won't see my sons for 3 days a week. I thought I'd get used to it, but then I asked why I SHOULD get used to it...

Got to work and my boss pulled me into his office and asked "I'm totally not promising you anything, so don't get your hopes up, but IF an opportunity arose, would you come to first?" "Yes" "how soon could you come?" "right ****ing now, I was going to talk to you about this soon". Later he announced that a 1st shift guy with my job is transferring. Of course, I totally got my hopes up, the timing seemed too perfect.

Not happening. Found out today. I mean, there's like a slight glimmer of hope that I might get some improvement in my hours, but I don't know.

Camping in the rain thinking about this should make for a bang-up weekend.

I found a neat recipe website specifically for babies, but they don't tell you how much it makes. The recipe is in small enough portions for a baby like 2floz broth 2oz chicken..... I think it's easier to just cut off some of my meal and give it to her.

I did see an awesome recipe for sweet potato applesauce pancakes.

So am I going to be the one to comment about how it sounds like the website is for cooking babies?

Every interview I had on Hawaii did this when they showed interest. I told them the correct amount of places offering and the correct timeline, but not the business. I made up different businesses in a somewhat different field.

So do I need to quote Brooklyn saying she'll send pie of she loses? Because she's totally getting knocked up now. It's like when women say "I'm not looking for a relationship, I'm happy being single" then boom, they're dating someone.

In one way, I want to be called in for a longer shift on Friday. ($$$$$) On the other hand, it will make for an early, long day followed by another early, long day.

So I got called for the longer shift, but here's hoping my place will be open. Read that around 4:45 the fire department got called for a report of smoke. Seems like a transformer blew. Here's hoping thar gets fixed before 5 tomorrow morning.

Sorry dude. It sucks when you get your hopes up just a little bit to have them taken down.

In a recent job interview I was asked how old I was, if I had any future marital plans, if I had a girlfriend or not and how much of a drinker/party guy I was.

Technically, those questions are legal to ask. It's if they use your answers to discriminate against you as a candidate is when it's illegal. (I know, how do you prove that?)

Let me hunt for a link and post it.

Edit: Here's the link...question #2
