Go back and see how well Geno did in the Big 12 in 2012.

T-5th at a 4-5 record. You are saying West Virginia has sucked since joining the big 12 since they were from a lesser conference, and that NDSU would get ***** stomped. I don't think 4-5 in the big 12 and tied for 5th is getting **** stomped, nor prove your point. The 2-7 record after the year he left would, but again, they didn't have a QB. I never said nor thought that West Virginia or TCU would win the big 12 with Dalton and Smith, rather they wouldn't struggle so bad if those two were running those respective teams. Dalton didn't play in the big 12 after leading his team to a 13-0 record his senior year, so saying TCU has struggled so badly because they joined the big 12 needs to temper down a bit.

They were one goal line fumble away from losing to us and being 3-6.

So you are playing at home, with a better offense, a better defense, and better coaches with better depth. I wish you were setting the line instead of some neutral idiot that does it for a living so I could bet on NDSU +49 instead of NDSU-2
Did I say that? Are your eyes open or do they still have sleep in them? Read, I just said that I think you are very overconfident with your defense and thinking that its better then Iowa State. Yes we are young, but we have lots of talent and its going to take some time to mesh. But I think you're crazy in thinking that NDSU Boys are way better. MAYBE a couple but not the majority. I will stand behind that.

Which part of the above do you not believe: 1) at home 2) better offense 3) better defense 4) better coaches 5) better depth

TCU went 11-2 the year after Dalton left and won the Mountain West. They've gone 11-14 since joining the Big XII.

The point is WVU wasn't coming from the FCS, they were coming off 10-3 and back to back Big East Championships. That is much less of a step and they still struggled.

I don't believe that your defense would be better then ours. Maybe a couple of players but not the majority of the team. There is no way, we are young but very athletic, and are taught by extremely good coaches. Just because you can hold a wimpy FCS to nothing doesn't mean they are all stars.

Wimpy FCS? Kansas State scored 21 points on us, lowest total of their year last year playing in the almighty big 12. Yes we tied with Texas for holding them to their lowest output, better than OU, OK st, all of the other Godly teams. Yes, different team this year, but we have 7 returning starters, and Iowa State's offense is not nearly as good as Kansas State's.

Do you think Kansas State was overlooking you guys not to mention trying to find a new quarterback? Our offense was not good because of our O-coordinator. Before we lost our confidence we competed against Texas and Texas Tech, we went down hill because of injuries, quarterback injury and bad bad coordinating. Don't overlook us.

Valid point. But I still wouldn't say West Virginia struggled the one year they had Geno, as i am pretty sure they made a bowl game that year, and if making a bowl game is a struggling season, i hate to think what you guys call non bowl game seasons-- or most seasons.

Year in and year out, probably not very well with 63 scholarships --- but no worse than iowa state, KU and other perennial bottom feeders. Last year they could have competed with anyone in the nation, but it was a once/lifetime type of team. So last year, for one year, they would have done pretty well, but again that is a different story and definitely an outlier.

I'll agree that last year's NDSU team was special. However, even that NDSU team gets 5 to 7 wins AT MOST against ISU's 2013 schedule. Even if you want to give NDSU the additional scholarships, still no more than 7 wins, likely 6-6. NDSU beat UNI and KSU last year so I will count that as two wins. I think they could have beat Tulsa, a TCU team with no offense, Kansas, and WVU. Maybe someone else. If you want to argue that last year's NDSU team was one of the best FCS teams ever that's fine, but they still would have been a .500 football team in the Big 12. They would not have "competed with anyone in the nation" as you say.

The Geno team returned 16 starters and was ranked in the top 10 before entering big12 play. Those 16 starters were part of a team that curb stomped clemson 70-7 in the previous years orange bowl.

I'm not overlooking you, just simply arguing a mere opinion against the claim that ISU's starters are better at 19-20 of 22 positions according to some ISU posters. You disagreed that NDSU's defense would be better than ISU's so I was wondering if there is anything you thought NDSU would have an advantage in.

Even if those all are true (which I believe they are), in no way would that make the line 49 points.. They mean we think our team will win. Do you not understand that the experts in Vegas don't make lines based on who they think will win, but rather what will yield the most even bets from each side??
