Sounds like they plan to do the survivor stuff after 10pm so it doesn't interfere much with mafia (there are four or five that are playing both). I haven't played survivor on here, but basically, people are divided into teams. The teams compete in challenges, and the winning team gains tribal immunity. The losing team each time has to vote off one member of their tribe. Alliances form between tribe members (I won't vote for you if you won't vote for me, for example). If you can get four or five people in an alliance, you can control who gets voted off on your tribe.
When one tribe has lost most of its members, or both tribes have lost about half, the tribes merge. Then immunity is an individual thing instead of a tribal thing. The winner of a challenge gains immunity from the next vote, and everyone votes for anyone they want (again, alliances and former tribe loyalties can make it a numbers game), and the person with the most votes is booted from the game.
Sometimes they mix it up by drawing straws to remix the tribes before they merge, which really screws up people that are in alliances within their tribes. And some people pretend to be your friend and turn on you & vote you out (kinda like middle school, eh?).
Anyhoo, that's what the game is on TV. Don't know exactly how it plays out on CF...but c'mon...give it a whirl!
