That's why they started making car seats that recline. Can't waste those last few dropsOne drawback to being tall is that you can't finish your drink while driving or riding in a car. The end of the bottle/cup/can will hit the ceiling preventing you from getting that last drink.

When was the last time someone patted you on top of the head?
I'm not worried about being unattractive to men due to my height (or lack thereof). I would just like to be able to reach the second shelf of my kitchen cabinets without having a step-stool handy, or wear a seatbelt with a shoulder strap that doesn't choke me, or sit in a kitchen chair and have my feet touch the floor, or have the head rest on the back of whatever seat I'm in not force me to contemplate my navel, or reach the gas & brake pedals in my car without having to rack the seat so far forward my boobs get caught in the steering wheel when I turn corners..
About the only GOOD thing about being short? I never EVER have to duck.![]()
My question is, why do women get so concerned over their shortness? I've never met a guy that has said "oh I can't date her, she's too short." I get men, because I hear all the time women say they can't date a man because he's "too short" (which is weird because most of the time when I hear that, the dude is taller than the average American man). But I think height of a woman is very rarely a factor for men, unless it's on the tall end.

I have turned down multiple houses because I could only reasonably use the bottom level of three cabinets. I refuse to use a damn step stool for 2/3rds of kitchen storage.
The navel thing! I forgot about that. This is the worst on airplanes. Next to me, DH is sleeping away with that bumper thing behind his neck. Mine is behind the back of my head forcing my head down.

Is the house you build going to have 7' ceilings?
and anybody here ever built a home not made of legos? You should tell me things.
My dad is about 5'9"ish, mom is about 5'3". Im around 5'10 5'11", sister is a whopping 5'1" as a junior in high school. My one brother will be about 6'6" at least and my other brother might be shorter than me. Talk about getting all the extremes in 1 family.

getting a family picture probably involves just your sister's head and your one brother from the neck down.

I used to just hop up on the counters to reach the cabinets. I'm getting a little too unstable & rickety to do that any more. I finally succumbed to the collapsible step-stool...which hubby frequently spirits off to the basement or the garage...grrrrrr.
