Amar'e would have to opt out of his deal to go into free agency right? I don't see any chance in hell he does that, he won't get anything close to a max deal with his health.

I wonder if Pierce will try to sign a modest contract with Boston so he can retire as a Celtic. If I recall he only agreed to the Brooklyn trade as a favor to KG.

Aside from how Miami rebuilds, I'm most interested in seeing where Lance goes. He was a border line all-star last year is only 23, but he also scares a lot of teams away.

I don't think any of the Cryami Heat players will go into free agency.

Somebody on that team is going to need to take less money so they can afford a supporting cast that isn't 100% way-past-their-prime veterans. Wade in particular, would probably help the team more by moving to a super-sixth-man role of the bench, a la Ginobli. He just doesn't have the goods consistently enough anymore.

I thought for sure going into the series that he'd be done if they won. But they were SO dominant, how can he not feel like they've got a good shot to run this all back again next year?

yeah, not sure why he'd retire now. They've never won back to back, you'd think he'd want to try with this squad

If OKC's front office doesn't get rid of Westbrook for another PG that fits their needs better (rondo), they should all be fired. Durants biggest weakness is Westbrook.

That's going to be a tricky situation though, especially with the Harden trade still hanging over the franchise's head. Durant is on record and seems sincere that he loves playing with Russ and would be upset if the team broke them up. Maybe there's a better fit at PG, but you don't mess around with ******* of Durant, especially when the last time you tried a similar move it didn't really work out so well.

And really, it's not like Westbrook isn't ALSO an extremely talented player. He would be the franchise guy for a lot of other teams. Somewhere there is a coach capable of crafting a system that utilizes the combination of both guys to their full potential.

The storybook ending of riding off into the sunset as a champion like John Elway and Pete Sampras did has to be tempting for Duncan.

On the other hand, the sixth ring and going to back to back has to be even more tempting. Plus he can still play so its not like his skills are quickly diminishing. Pop will handle his minutes wisely and keep him from wearing down.

Go for it Tim...I was shattered when Elway decided to not come back for a run at a 3-peat

Westbrook is very possible the third best player in the league when healthy. Trading him for Rondo is a massive downgrade, Rondo can't shoot, that would be a terrible trade for the Thunder. If the current coaching staff can't make that combo work, then they need to bring in a staff that can figure it out. Going from Westbrook-Harden-Durant to only Durant in a span of three years would be a massive failure for OKC's front office.

They should've dumped Westbrook instead of Harden, IMO. You have unarguably the best scorer in the league on your team yet your point guard is a score-first player. Doesn't make sense.
