Recruit Lists v2.0

Ellenson update, with the blueboods coming now it may be difficult to get him to Ames. That said Fred's system seems to fit exaclty what he wants in a program. Also in the article he mentions the possibility of playing in with his brother who has an offer to play Basketball and Track at Texas Tech "would be fun" FWIW.
Ellenson wants to utilize his diverse skill set at a program that will let him play different positions.
“I’m looking at a place where I’ll be able to play inside and outside, and put it on the floor and be able to shoot,†he told SNY.tv exclusively this past weekend at the Nike EYBL stop here..“I don’t want to be stuck in a certain position. Playing my way and where they would play me — I don’t want to be stuck in one spot. That’s probably the biggest factor in my decision.â€
Ellenson reports that the schools recruiting him the hardest are Duke, Iowa State, Marquette, Michigan State, North Carolina, UCLA, and Wisconsin

Goodness... some of these comments sound like we'd be the perfect place. Guess Wisc could say the same thing. Lots of teams say up tempo, versatile players, etc. but CFH would definitely not "stick him in one spot" (ala Niang). But, we all know other coaches will probably claim the same, but do they do it? Wonder who that extra voice could be that could convince him to come play for Fred?

I can't understand why elite guys like Ellenson or anyone else would still want to play for Roy. He's lost it. Arguably our best player last year was injured against them and with how much talent they had on top of Niang being injured, they should've won. His teams have really underperformed in the past 2-3 years and he is slimy. Duke is the same minus the slimy part since you can't hate Coach K. And if Ellenson wants to run up and down the court and score, I don't get why he has Marquette or Wisconsin on his list. Hopefully he realizes these simple things and figures out how much a guy like Hoiberg can help improve his game.

They like the idea of North Carolina. Roy just happens to be there.

As for Wisconsin, as much as I dislike them, they are playing faster now. A lot of their games are watchable these days.

LOL Take this comment to a UNC board and prepare to have a fun time.

I really, REALLY want Ellenson. I know it's probably a long shot, but I'm glad to see we're still involved in recruiting him.

Agree. But I really want Diallo too. Can we somehow pull off getting one of the two??

One reason I would like to play for UNC is because you only have to show up for class once a semester. BTW this is not my opinion. They are under investigation for it.

Coach K is slimy as they get as well but the NCAA loves him and Duke too much. Just look up the info on Maggette and Brand recruitments.

I kinda like to picture Diallo in a Tuxedo t-shirt, you know, something classy but still says, "I'm here to party".

I kinda picture Diallo with like eagles wings singing lead vocals for Lynyrd Skynyrd with like an angel band, and im in the front row HAMMERED DRUNK!!

I was watching videos from Eric Davis and AJ Turner playing for The Family. Is there any chance these two go as a package deal like we saw this last year?

Appears Turner is starting his officials... 4 left.
Though ISU is probably close enough that he wouldn't necessarily need to use an official.
@TheRecruitScoop: Stanford will host 2015 wing AJ Turner of The Family (MI) for an official visit this weekend.

I have been to Stanford a few times and during the summer. I do not think it has much happening on campus in the summer. It is not that exciting for bball in Palo Alto in the summer.

I thought Turner went to a prep school on the east coast. ISU isn't exactly driving distance from there. Although I assume his parents are still in Michigan.

Is Turner a priority recruit for us?

He's a small forward, a position we really need in the future. Turner is also pretty high on us right now, so I would say you take the commit if he's willing to do it. The guy seems to keep impressing and improving more, and people expect him to blow up this summer. With all of those things said, I would say yes.

about coach K, I don't know if I would use the word slimy, but he is not as clean as you think. He has repeatedly contacted recruits in dead periods and he gets away with it. He has been at events where coaches can only watch but not talk to recruits, yet he talks to them anyway, blatantly. I think he views himself untouchable.

And it appears that he is correct.
