The university may be in a no-win situation. Veishea should be canceled after the events of tonight to make sure things don't get even worse as the week goes on, but canceling Veishea could result in, well, a riot.
this is horrible stuff, but imagine how these riots would have been if we won the national title the same week which is what would have happened this year. i can't even fathom.
I feel embarrassed. Watched it from afar. Things were okay until two or three people decided to break off a stop sign. Chain reaction from there. Prayers to the kid who was hit by the light pole. Veishea doesn't even matter right now. Just hoping he's okay.
Just watched a video of the light pole going down that the student was injured in. Lots of youngsters coming from the center of the crowd shouting "Move back, move back, someones hurt"
It was originally a joke because RV didn't come here. But that joke is old. I need a new avatar.
Yep..the crap that happened tonight is what gets people killed/hurt, damaged property, and cancel future VEISHEAs.
Nah, it happens. A lot of kids went hard last night and I knew it would just keep building. Really didn't think it would necessarily happen tonight.
Probably not realistic, but I'd want to issue an ultimatum. VEISHEA is cancelled and if there is a riot/mob in retaliation, anyone arrested will be expelled.
I'm obviously not an ISU alum, but I do know how important VEISHEA is to the university for what it is, and how fun it can be for students. This group probably just ruined it for everybody, and the inner snark in me and can't help but smh at the fact that this is a weeklong event and they completely lost control on ******* Tuesday.
Amateurs should not be allowed outside during VEISHEA ever again. Because this was absolutely amateur ******* hour.
Pike is pi kappa alpha, not phi. Doesn't really matter though, just really hope the kid is alright.
