You're mistaken. That interview shows how much behind AL to ISU the local media was.

Totally disagree. If that interviewer was behind him coming to ISU, he would have asked the question once and moved on......not ask the same question different ways a dozen times. He could have just shortened his questions by asking "ISU? Really?". Almost all of the interview was the same thing. It was like he thought maybe AL would slip up somewhere or something. Idiotic.

To be honest, I wouldn't care if they stopped interviewing all of the players.

Interviews like this probably helped to lead to the decision. The idiotic interviewer just would not let up. It's like he can't believe that AL would choose ISU.

13RAW INTERVIEW: Top Recruit Allen Lazard | WHOTV.com

First things first...that little turdbucket is a UI grad and huge homer. He was assigned to ISU coverage and simply can't contain his smirks when things go poorly, like they did for much of the football season. He was also pretty gleeful when the basketball team lost 3 games. Cannot stand having him report on the Cyclones. I'd rather have pretty much anyone else on their staff do it.

Second - I can't remember where, but I saw (or read) and interview with Lazard, and he specifically stated that he can't wait to get to the locker room and be "just one of the guys". The kid is sick & tired of the circus. He wants to be part of the team, and doesn't want special attention to continue. As he gets more comfortable here he may change his mind, but I'm pretty confident that the media blackout is probably as much his idea as anyone else's.

Third - I think it's a great idea. Let the upperclassmen, the captains, the leadership on the team do the media bits. Let the freshman learn the system, learn their new roles, and learn how different college is from high school. As for the media? Well, they can just go suck it.

I have no problem with Rhoads keeping him of limits. The kid was hounded every other week it seemed like. Still going to ISU? How about now? Hey it's been three weeks, still committed? I understand there were other recruiting trips he went on so there was possibly a reason why there were so many inquiries, but tell me this happened with our other top recruits or Iowa's for that matter. It didnt. Rhoads was right, Lazard had to deal with a lot that other kids didnt. Campos didn't even get the same treatment and h was last year's top Iowan recruit.

Wow......I missed that one somehow. I just think it is hilarious that they are acting that butt-hurt about it. He is a 17/18 year old football player in his first year in college, and the coach decides to make him off-limits to the press his first year. You would think Rhoads invented the idea or something. Idiots.

Thats ********... why the special invite for just them? I mean because I didnt get on here earlier and post "Jon Sears sucks," (which he does) that I am excluded from what appears to be some sad Des Moines version of the Smackoff?

I like Murph and Andy, but I had to turn that off. Media take pot shots at coaches all the time. Let Rhoads get his in. Good lord. But guess what? We are talking about ISU football in February the day after NSD. I would say Score one to Rhoads.

Wow, Murph and Andy have one hurt feeling by this whole thing. Is today's show just going to one long sob session? Riveting, riveting radio.

Well... when you take to twitter in an effort to get anonymous internet posters to call in you pretty much mailed it in.

My God can someone PLEASE call in and put an end to this garbage? The butt-hurt is absolutely disgusting. What bothers me the most is they keep calling Rhoads paranoid and saying that he was accusing the media for trying to make Lazard go elsewhere. Where in the hell did they get that? Who is the ones being paranoid here?

Someone should remind them that yesterday was national signing day. I'm sure both ISU and Iowa fans would rather hear some discussion of their newly signed players instead of them commiserating about poor them getting picked on by mean ol' Rhoads.

Give them a message for me - cough cough (clearing my throat) 1. it's isufbcurt with a C and 2. I have no desire to go on that amatuer hour of a show. If they are to dumb to be able to look at what was written/how their own collegue interviewed AL on WHOTV then there is no helping them. They can spin the interview/articles anyway they want but it's obvious what their agenda was.

Thank you
