Re: Pres. Leath addresses the Bubu Palo issue at Hilton today

Look, Jamie is a good guy whose weakness tends to be one-mindedness. In this case, despite if he thinks Bubu is the scum of the earth, Bubu has used the system and has gotten back on the team. That's life.

I actually thought Leath handled things well today. I wish Jamie hadn't tweeted that because the last thing I want is an implied idea that Hoiberg shouldn't play him. I don't necessarily care what Leath said, I am not sure he is OK with Bubu playing. I want Hoiberg to be able to make that call.

Re: Pres. Leath addresses the Bubu Palo issue at Hilton today

Your hypocrisy is extreme, even for you.
The only known facts are that this woman maliciously went after with Bubu with falsified evidence, but because a woman accused a man, many people lose their minds. If three women drink, have sex, regret it, and one falsifies evidence to accuse the other of rape, does Leath rule the same? Leath is applying a construction of sexual assault fallaciously based on gender and his own antiquated morals to say the ISU policy was violated.
Besides Leath, as a plant scientist, likely not being as competent in this as a judge, what is alarming is how incompetent he was in handling a process that is not that uncommon at that level. Too busy in Africa?

I am so tired of this CRAP! She presented false evidence over 5 MONTHS after the incident. She went to the hospital the next DAY. So for several months there apparently was adequate evidence for a trial. It would appear someone convinced her there was not enough for a conviction. If you have any other evidence she lied present it, to say she made everything up is NOT in evidence.

Re: Pres. Leath addresses the Bubu Palo issue at Hilton today

A drunk girl can't give consent. If there's even a sliver of a chance that you're going to be potentially accused of rape there are a lot of other issues which should be dealt with first. Not to mention you're an athlete and thus held to a higher standard and hanging out with a scumbag like he was.

Well, if she was drunk, then it's a pretty clear case of rape then, right? But yet, no court has seen it that way. Why?

And I'm not saying that Bubu shouldn't have put himself in that situation, because he shouldn't have. But neither should have David Irving, Albert Gary, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. But yet, JP let all those other guys play. Why?

Do you still not get the point? I'm not so much defending at all what Bubu did. But Bubu took the options open to him in this country. That's all he can do. He was trying to protect himself, just like any of us would do.

But it's JP's hypocrisy that is ticking me off in this case. I don't get it? There is something else going on here. And the way the JP worships money leads me to believe that somehow that is behind this somehow? JP would sell blades of grass from Jack Trice field if he felt he could raise a penny for the program. Which is fine.

But it's usually money that makes JP do the things he does. It's why he lets convicted felons suit up again on the football field. Fine. So be it. So then let Bubu play basketball then I say. The only reason I could see why he wouldn't is if he felt it would "cost" us more by letting him play than not. And why would that be?

What is the proper term for someone who tries to choke out a police officer?

Young, drunk and did something stupid that he paid for. Sure glad you never have. What do you call someone who lies to the county attorney and tries to falsify evidence to pin a rape charge on somebody she called from the bars to pick her up, and who she had a previous relationship with?

I've never done anything remotely close to that, and I'm guessing the vast majority haven't as well.

Agreed and we'll said. Leath handled the situation appropriately imo. Pollard used a distorted headline to make a statement.

Let me give you a little lesson in reality, ok? If nobody was allowed to play basketball at ISU that had drunk sex with a girl... then we wouldn't have a team. We might have a couple players on the team at most. Ok?

So now how do you feel about the team? The truth and reality sometimes hurts. Most of these guys aren't choir boys. They are like a lot of other college kids, or probably even worse. Ok? Deal with it. Wake up.

What makes you think that for 5 months there was enough evidence for a trial? Maybe the investigation was still ongoing, or maybe there wasn't enough evidence to proceed with a trial or charges. And the woman could have filed a civil lawsuit anytime where the bar is much lower to prove guilt. It's been a couple of years now and she hasn't, and apparently has left the state. A good guess might be that maybe she's afraid she could be charged with lying to the county attorney and filing false charges, but who knows.

I'm not sure how that relates to assaulting a police officer...

You replied to a post about how Bubu was a young drunk kid who did something stupid and is paying for it. So that's what I assumed you were talking about?

I replied to the one calling his friend a scumbag.

Just gonna say this, today during the game there was a pretty big sign in the student section saying "Free Bubu". I got a feeling that many students share the same thinking as I do. The court decided he was innocent so just let it go, stop dragging this matter on and on.

That's the thing, the court never decided that. Charges were dropped and it's a pretty big difference.

Now maybe you've never had sex with a woman who's been drinking but I'm not sure you can say that about most of the rest of us. And thats' the only thing we know BuBu, did, anything else you're just making up in your mind because for some strange reason you've chosen to believe the woman who we know lied instead of the honor student athlete.
