Long John's Ames - Closed

There used to be a Hardees in there up till the mid-90s and I wonder why they closed. They had to have done decent business.

Hardee's at North Grand? Interesting.

I knew there was one in the current Panera location, and one on Welch in whatever the Keg Shop building is called now.

The great part about Diamond Daves was that the guys could have a drink at the bar and maybe catch part of a game while the ladies did some shopping. Now all we've got is a bench to sit on.

Yeah, there aren't too many options for places to sit and hang.

There was a bar on the other end of the mall by J.C. Penney. We went there after an ISU men's basketball game and they had Ohio State/Iowa on the big screen tv and a bunch of Hawkeye fans watching. Our group cheered for the Buckeyes.

You're not talking about The Hallway are you ? Used to be a great place to go for Twofers. Drank a lot of Zombies

nope. Was the bar in the Strawberry Patch/shoe store area?

No, was on the East side across from the Sports Page. The main entrance was on the East of the building facing the parking lot because they had later hours then the mall. The mall entry was just a single nondescript door with a long hallway thus the name the Hallway as noted by CyRgr8. Twofers Kamikaze.
