Iowa's fans logic is that if they shoot less FTs than their opponent, then they got screwed and would have won the game if not for the FT disparity.

Ok, that's fine if they really want to go there. Then I'm sure they'd also agree that their record right now should then be 2-10 instead of 10-2. Yes, Iowa has shot more FTs than their opponents in 10 of their 12 games this year. Obviously the refs were "for" them in all these games and the other team would have won if it would have been called more evenly.

Iowa has attempted 341 FTs up to the ISU game, while their opponents have attempted 194 FTs. 147 more FT attempts for Iowa than their opponents. So obviously Iowa is paying off the refs in most games.

I've never seen it so bad after an Iowa-ISU game as far as the losing side being bitter and in attack mode. Here's a laundry list of the crap they are spouting

1. The refs screwed them
2. They are still the better team
3. Iowa State fans are lame for rushing the court (I can't really argue that)
4. It was Iowa State's Super Bowl
5. They beat us in football
6. What bowl is Iowa State going too?

You can add wrestling to that list.

That stat is a hoot. They have folks seriously posting that the fouls should ALWAYS come out even or it is a sign of ref bias.

Like I said, that's fine if they want to think like that. Then they should also be willing to change Iowa's record to 2-10 then since they got the benefit of the refs calls in 10 out of their 12 games thus far.

It will be refs and fouls which is funny because:

1) they give us so much grief for our ref complaints
2) our ft shooting was so terrible it was barely an advantage

A big reason they shot less FTs than us was that so many of their layups and dunks were uncontested. Iowa bodied up on our inside shots and got called for it. If ISU actually plays better D and contests those early shots then the Hawks would have had more FT chances.

Funny how that works out.
