Would this violate any recruiting regulations?

You all know about "kiss" cams, right? How about during time-outs or half-time a "Who's This?" cam. The cam would focus on a person with ?????? (the number of question marks equal to the number of letters in their name) under their face until the crowd chants the person's name (if known ISU personality, "Fan" if a cheering fan). You could show Cy, exuberant and properly dressed fans, players (all sports), coaches, recruits, famous alumni, etc. When the chant begins, eliminate the question marks and show the name. If we are not allowed to show a recruit's name, we could just eliminate the question marks.

The video board can't display anything relating to a recruit (unless it's incidental like showing the crowd who happen to be holding Vaughn signs). So they wouldn't even be able to show Vaughn's face on the video board.

Can't have signs with his name or likeness on it either. That is a violation as well. Scott Drew pointed that out to officials last year I believe.

I'm pretty sure the signs are legal unless the university is the one who handed them out or made them.

What if, after several other targets, it is incidental because the cam is targeting the person next to a recruit?

The common response from compliance... "if you have to ask the answer is yes its illegal."

But you can put an RV Winnebago in a picture and say "Driving distance from Minny"

I believe I heard that Cyclone Alley made an effort to remove the signs last year after Scott Drew's whining because they thought their official relationship as a wing of the university could get us in recruiting hot water. If it was just students in a student section, it could have been different. But that is just what I heard obviously unofficially.

Unless Cyclone Alley organizes it it isn't a violation. If individual students in Cyclone Alley bring signs that is totally legal.

I thought this was going to be a question about a kiss cam between Vaughn and someone else after I read the first sentence.
