An interesting angle for the spinoff would be from the Millitary/Pentagon reaction to the zombie apocalylps and a nationwide view of it.

I think in the episode before, Daryl said that he found him on the street. "I should have kept driving."
So my guess is that he wasn't from Woodbury at all. Perhaps the GOV found him and is holding a ton of booze hostage and forcing him to infiltrate the prison? (Ha.)
What's up with all the Glen hate? Now that he has been developed more as an actual character instead of just the token guy who went on all the runs, drove the car and killed zombies people don't like him? Don't really get it. Not sure why anyone would consider him whiny, because he has a girlfriend and an actual personality now?
Yeah I found that Daryl picked him up on his own.
It might be too obvious but he is suspect #1 for inside man. Unless it's a complete unknown character (odd) or the rat feeding has nothing to do with the Govna, which would also be odd.
I loved last night's episode. Hershel is by far my favorite character, he really got to shine last night.
I don't get the Glen hate either. Good character and good conscience too. Also, remember when he was captured by the Gov/Meryl and was tied up and Meryl sent in a walker to kill him? Uh, Glen found a way to survive that.... pretty awesome.
He's got a hot girlfriend going for him too. Root for him!
Glen's one of my favorite characters. He's one of the few characters, other than Daryl, that doesn't make stupid freaking decisions all the time.
Hershel is just plain awesome. He is a total "good guy" trying to do whatever he can in a terrible situation/world. The actor is great. Sadly, I think his days are numbered and he'll be our next big death, but who knows I have thought that for awhile.

I think it's cool if anyone is capable of getting offed. You have to admit Glen is deviating from his origin and not a good way (while Carol got a lot cooler).
Glen's appeal was that the zombie apocalypse brought out an awesome zombie killer no one would've expected. I wish they'd get back to that.

It'd be interesting to find out that there's a legit safe zone and the military is running offensive operations trying to take the country back. You know, stuff that made the book WWZ cool before Brad Pitt ruined it.

I think they showed that in this recent situation. I mean, Glen came really damn close. I think he will realize that he was too vulnerable. He could very well come out of this situation better than he was.
Almost everyone's been softened by living in the prison. The Govna will eff that up real quick and we'll see who's still a badass. I think Daryl is the only one that's still hardcore. Heck even Michone is smiling and happy.
