So, he did not commit this weekened to Bradley (LOL!) ? That's good news, hope we can pull him in.
Can't help but wonder if he is waiting on Vaughn. We have a young team, maybe he feels Vaughn would take his playing time at the 3. He could play the 4 but would have to fight Nadar and Niang for two years there. Just a feeling, but if we miss on Vaughn, might ge Josh.
I'm going to say that we don't sign him after this news and will fill that scholly with someone else like a transfer or Juco guy.
We only have one open scholly at the moment which is saved for Vaughn. If Cunningham comes Hoiberg will make it work. Hoiberg isn't going to sign someone (transfer or JUCO) unless he believes they are elite. If we miss out on Vaughn/Cunningham he'll bank it IMO
I dont see him starting as a frosh regardless if we have vaughn or not so I dont think vaughn would play into it since he is likely a 1 and done or so he thinks.
i'd love to see what hoiberg could do with a 6'7" stud athlete freshman, but after two visits if cunningham still can't commit, I also think we move on. cunningham must not have the offer he wants, considering he's turned down in aau coach, two BCS schools, and almost BCS in creighton.
I think it'd be more likely that Fred told him the scholly is his if Vaughn goes elsewhere.
Nah, I think he is just struggling to make a final decision. Its a big choice.
Edit: Nevermind, he is waiting til spring? That is surprising.

Spring signee's never work. They are usually guys like Cunningham who wait till the spring. Then a team like Kentucky get's in on them since they need one more guy. So they get star struck. Go to Kentucky and transfer one year later when they find out that they have been recruited over again.
The only way spring signee's usually work for us would be a Vaughn type situation. Where he is a top flight kid who is enjoying the recruiting process.
How could Cunningham not know where he wants to go to school? That always made me curious. He has visited 5 schools. Some multiple times. Either you want to go there or you don't.

I'm sure we'd take both. We could really use a HS recruit that plays Cunningham's position.
JC might not see it this way, but Vaughn will only impact his PT for one year - so going forward, RV shouldn't be an issue for JC.
Not to mention Hogue being gone too, with McKay Nader Niang gone the following year. We won't have anyone 6'7 or bigger his Jr or Sr years until we sign someone else in the upcoming classes and he'd have the edge on them unless they are top 25 players.
He hasn't taken 5 official visits. Don't sleep on Michigan State. I know they haven't offerred...yet.
