Josh Cunningham

Josh may not see it that way. I agree with you, however.

Im sure this is part of the Bradley recruiting pitch - close to home/ Mom, and play sooner/ be a star sooner...

Of course Fred's pitch would be: big school/ more exposure. NBA Rolodex. Fast offense - lots of possessions for multiple guys to "get theirs".

This isn't a huge problem, IMO. RV is the big fish out there for us. If we miss on JC in the spring, we'll likely find a transfer wing to fill that spot.

The momentum right now for us in the transfer market is very significant. We're going to get a look by a decent percentage of transfers going forward based on the previous success.

I agree, I think we will be in on the top 3 of every transfer class. Obviously wont get them all but will get 1 of them. It's like getting a suprise 4 star recruit every year.

That surprises me, all signs were pointing to him having a decision by now
may as well see who he would have to compete for time with. At this point his stock will only go up and can make an informed pick. Isu and bradley and ou would all make room. He may see an ISU with vaughn as too tight for freshman minutes but without vaughn willing to roll the dice. I know he and vaughn aren't the same players but vaughn would force more of the 3 guard lineup and that means mckay, nader, niang and hogue would be playing majority minutes at 4&5 and would be secondary minutes at 3 when we went big. We would go big more without vaughn. If it is between us and Bradley, I would guess waiting on vaughn is a big part of his decision, but who knows. He may just be waiting in a mich. St. offer....

JC might not see it this way, but Vaughn will only impact his PT for one year - so going forward, RV shouldn't be an issue for JC.

Unless he really wants to play as a frosh. It would be tough to get minutes with vaughn here.

Spring signee's never work. They are usually guys like Cunningham who wait till the spring. Then a team like Kentucky get's in on them since they need one more guy. So they get star struck. Go to Kentucky and transfer one year later when they find out that they have been recruited over again.
The only way spring signee's usually work for us would be a Vaughn type situation. Where he is a top flight kid who is enjoying the recruiting process.
How could Cunningham not know where he wants to go to school? That always made me curious. He has visited 5 schools. Some multiple times. Either you want to go there or you don't.
Maybe this is the problem. He might have been able to eliminate some schools but not all of them. It's very possible that he likes the idea of going to Bradley and the idea of going to ISU. It isn't a black and white decision.

I understand that Josh has connections with Bradley, but how could a great player choose to play for a school like Bradley over ISU or any other big program. Just boggles my mind.

The kid's, what, 18? Wanting to be close to home is a very understandable reason. I assume he's weighing being close to home, would be the star but possibly a poor program vs. being further from home and having to battle for playing time his first year or two but a much better program.

By this logic how in the world do we have a shot with Vaughn? Like it or not we are to North Carolina and Kentucky what Bradley is to us.

Did he end up visiting for the Michigan game? I couldn't tell if he was there or not. I saw the 3 IHCC kids but wasn't sure about Josh.

Does anyone know anything on him anymore? I thought it was down to us and Bradley. He missed the early signing period, so do we also need to wait until April for him?
