Fire all the coaches.

Re: Is it rare to not have a quarterbacks coach?

Not sure if you're trying to be a smartass or just don't pay any attention.
I am meaning seperate from the OC, I know Mess has the title but I am meaning like a seperate person devoted just to quarterbacks

Re: Sorry, but this teams coaching staff is pathetic

Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference but the call on our last series on 3rd down and Richardson throws and incomplete pass to STOP the clock. That should have been a running play for no other reason to eat up some clock or force TCU to use a timeout or just maybe get a first down. It was over at that point in my opinion.

Re: Sorry, but this teams coaching staff is pathetic

283 total yards mess has to go should be now

This is what I don't get. I know if I consistently performed my job at that level I would be fired, and deservingly so. I see absolutely no value in keeping him around any more. The team is 1-8 looking at an almost for sure 1-9. The offense in absolutely painful to watch. Maybe the players would respond to a new OC and QB coach, even if it is only a temp position for 3 games. Hard to imagine that some random guy from the stands couldn't do as well with play calling. The coaching of the QBs is a different story, but Mess is not doing much of a job with that either.

Re: Sorry, but this teams coaching staff is pathetic

Yep fire the whole offensive coaching staff. Rhoads needs to grow a pair and do this at seasons end if not see ya coach.

Re: Sorry, but this teams coaching staff is pathetic

Watching the offense I caught myself rolling my eyes, they look dazed and confused out there. So much confusion for game 9 and the rotating quarterbacks? May be the worst run offense in the history of ISU.

I know that Mess thought that they might fool TCU, but you got a QB who obviously is injured and can't pass, but runs pretty well, so that is what you need to do. Even if the pass had not been batted down, the chances of it being a good pass are pretty slim. To me you line up in the diamond, sweep to the far side of the field and hope that you hit a gap somewhere.

Re: Sorry, but this teams coaching staff is pathetic

I dont know how a team can seemingly always eat up just enough clock to give the ball to the other team and let them score so they have no chance of coming back. and really.... 17 yard punt with the game on the line..... smh..

Literally no one in the nation would blink an eye. And a MAC level coach or decent BCS coordinator would still gladly take the job.

This. There are a finite number of BCS level head coaching jobs. Somewhere around 70-72 of them. There are plenty of hungry coaches just a level below BCS licking their chops and looking to move up and prove themselves that would jump at the chance to come here and take over a program with the fan support we have.

Re: Sorry, but this teams coaching staff is pathetic

Did you see what K State did to T Tech today? That's how it's supposed to work with a young inexperienced team. Compentent coaching develops players and they get better as the year goes on. It's happening somewhat on our defense. Our offense, well you know....

What are you thinking?!?! We are only year 5 of a ten year plan.

PATIENCE PEOPLE!!!!!

Do you even watch football besides ISU? I don't know of one OC that isn't also a position coach (unless the head coach is also the OC). And to add to that I would say a great majority of OC's are also the QB coach.

UNIGuy4Cy some of the things you post on here make me wonder if you have any idea of what really goes on outside of your computer room and outside of what DM sports talk radio tells you.

Watching Jake Waters is all you need to know on how bad Messingham has been at developing quarterbacks. Steele Jantz had way more raw talent than Waters but Waters has surpassed anything Jantz did in two years here.

I hope the patience pays off as well as it has for KSU and Bill Snyder. We could only be so lucky. Thanks for showing that point Palmer.

Yes you can have a QB coach who isn't OC.
