Where did Lucious, Clyburn and Mcgee end up? I'm sure this has been said but I didn't see it.

We may struggle at the beginning but still lots of talent on this team. Probably won't drain the 3 at the crazy numbers we did last year. Keep in mind Hoiberg teams always take some time to gel. Come the big 12 conference play Hoiberg will have the boys ready to contend and finish anywhere from 2nd to 5th.

So you think we are going to come out and look like a seasoned team from day 1? Too many pieces to replace. This will be a fun team to watch, but to think there won't be growing pains is a bit unrealistic IMO.

Growing pains is far different than what we're seeing in football and that is the comparison

I disagree. Young team on the FB field with a lot of new pieces. Definitely learning to play together still. That is the very definition of growing pains. I have no shame in this FB team. They have been competitive in every game so far. I expect that to end with the game at Baylor, but who knows??

MBB will very likely be a bubble team in a weak B12. This FB team will probably end up with a 3 win season in a weak B12. That is the equivalent to a 14 win season in MBB.

Apples and oranges. I'm not trying to compare the success of our FB team to the success of our MBB team. Just saying the FB team is having growing pains and I expect the same from the MBB team (i.e. we'll lose some games that will drive many on this site bananas....think Drake 2 years ago).

Like the growing pains we had last season? When we started 11-3 non conference after having to replace 38pts from the year before?

I agree there will be growing pains, and we have about 47 pts a game to replace, but this season we also got 2 more weeks of practice before the season starts. Our non-con schedule is also tougher, but that will be good for this team in my opinion, especially because with it being tougher, a loss doesn't hurt you nearly as much. I don't think a loss to any team other than UNC Wilmington, Texas A&M CC, or UMKC... will really send cf into a downward spiral. If there are consistent losses to the other teams and we don't win any non-con games... then yea maybe... but then we are no longer talking growing pains, then this team is just no good... which I don't think will be the case.
