Probably depends on the circumstances, but I don't know if I would.
Let's say (for the sake of argument) that Texas, Tech, OU, and OSU are headed to the Pac to create a Pac-16.
Our best-case scenario is probably for the other 6 schools to stick together and peel off some others to start a new conference, but I'm not sure about the likelihood of that. Kansas would be attractive to the Big Ten, and West Virginia may also be to the ACC.
Kansas and UConn could be #15 and #16 for the Big Ten. West Virginia and another of the AAC schools could be the same for the ACC.
ISU, KSU, BU, and TCU might end up in a 16-team AAC, playing the likes of SMU, Memphis, East Carolina, etc. in conference games. Or, if we could pull it off, we could just pick the 8 best schools out of the AAC and destroy that conference while still making our own. But we may lack the leverage to pull that off.
Of course - all speculation - thank God it won't come to that. (Hopefully.)

No doubt, but that guy was wrong. And am sick of the peiple who acr like ISU has nothing to offer.
Seriously, I don't know who abused these people during their childhood's but Iowa State's resume isn't that of anything but a top tier program. We're not getting demoted.
I did too and still fear the possibility. But many that act like we are lucky or not deserving just get under my skin (mainly hawk fans saying).
Uconn isnt going to the big 10. They arent good enough academically for the acc they arent good enough for the Big 10. In that scenario I think isu to the B1G mor likely should acc stick together.
I think it would be one of the two, and UConn would bring a handful of TVs for the BTN while ISU adds none.
EDIT: I thought UConn was AAU but I was apparently wrong. I guess that adds some clout for ISU in that scenario.
Really don't see anybody leaving the Big 12. Texas, OU and KU all have TV deals and I'm sure others will follow. That's an extra income that's not allowed in the other conferences. Plus everybody wants to maintain their southern exposure and they wouldn't get that in the ACC or the Big 10.
After the GOR if the B1G offers KU they'll make the move before whoever their president is at the time can hang up the phone. And if I were you I'd be ****** if they didn't.

A lot will change in the next 10 years...we are already seeing many schools in the SEC complain about the 14 team format, and now even some in the B1G getting grumpy about it. (For example Iowa's home schedule in 2015). By the time our grant of rights is up many might be fed up and looking to go to smaller leagues.
The cable bubble might finally bust in 10 years...by then the B1G might look to add closer schools to save on costs now that they don't make as much money.

What did that get them? A cup of coffee and a donut. They need to fire their President and AD for being slaccards in not getting a better conference deal.
Say what? Apparently you've never heard ISU President Leath speak...he talks about why not Iowa State being in the class of Wisconsin, or Illinois, or Penn State...he never talks about ISU someday being in the class of K-State, TTech, or OU. Leath would be thrilled to be in the B1G.
Well, since you cried to a mod I'll rephrase;
Cal and Cornell will never be in the Big Ten Conference and they're not on the level of TTU & KSU. Iowa State will never be in the Big Ten Conference. Not an indictment of the institution, which I have faith will continue to get stronger on Leath's watch.
Not gonna happen but I would take LSU in a heartbeat. And yes I know it's from late last year. Just hadn't seen anything on it.

I'm told by a high-level ESPN contact that Pitt, Duke and Wake have told the ACC they would not play D4 football.

If this comes to fruition, could this be why there were scheduling aliance conversations between the BIG12 and ACC? Could the BIG12 take ACC teams as football only partners? Since the ACC stands to not make as much as the other big 4 conferences, could they slowly be choked out as the "Division 4" idea moves on through the years?
