Oh, for Pete's sake, people. If a post is clearly and totally sarcastic does it really need a Jimlad? Apparently so since so many missed the over the top sarcasm in that post.

Oh no, no i didnt. I just was pointing out that he didnt use a very good example.
Are you serious? All of his examples that he used were wrong...hence the sarcasm. I seriously cannot believe some people.
He used excellent sarcastic examples because all of those schools with tradition have had alternate unis in the last few years.
Okay, my bad, so you didn't miss it, you just don't understand how sarcasm works.
For the record, I don't think that not having alternate helmets is that big of a deal, but I can appreciate his well written sarcastic post. He makes a good point.
We need a navy helmet to remind us of the Mac era
A navy helmet isn't a luxury in the Big 12, it's a necessity. To compete with the likes Black Shirts and Wrecking Crew we need to bring our helmet game to the next level.
We need to win the helmet battle for the State of Iowa and build our uniforms the right way. We've started the foundation and it's time to build upon that. Now let's go win the second half

Thats what so many young fans dont understand is that blue is a core color for isu. Everybodys all cardinal gold cardinal gold. Umm you forgot blue. Posers
I hope it's Texas. Whenever we do something special for Iowa is just reinforces their belief that it is our superbowl.
I always look forward to the next white helmet thread, when in rome do as the romans...when in football do as the other white helmet schools do.............lol
They wore the alternate jerseys against us last year. Further proof that the roles are reversed.
The Texas game would be great. I am betting ESPN would even do a feature story on Jack Trice if we had the throw backs of his era. Would be a cool deal for sure.
I was at a spring practice and one of the coaches was talking about how they had to go get measured for throwback jerseys they'd be wearing this year. Wouldn't say what game or anything like that, just that they fit different and they had to get measured.
Because they are more aerodynamically efficient and this is also a reason for the change to alternate jerseys. Coupled with the fact that the white paint used on the helmets is stronger and also less restrictive to air flow while running, and you have additional benefits for alternate jerseys & helmets.
Starting to look like a no brainer.
Still think the mock-up of alternate white jerseys with the helmet being predominantly grey someone did a year or two ago (with my age, it is likely longer ago than that) would be unique & the way to go with a white jersey scheme.
