What's Hochevar's situation? Hard to believe he got $5m through arbitration when he's pitched as terribly as he has...but it's even harder to believe that the club would lock him up for that amount for the very same reasons. Or are you lumping Chen and him together in that $5m figure?
Hochevar, Chen, Francouer, and Santana are making $30 million between them this year. Enough to make a grown man cry. Santana is pitching well, and they didn't give up much, but they could've had him for free! Plus, his velocity drop last year and increase this year is scary because a drop followed by a sudden increase is sign of an injury.
