yeah, that's not exactly an uncommon looking backpack. well, if nothing else, I'm sure the FBI has access to the same info, and will follow up on it as they see fit. I imagine the amount of video and photographs of the event is staggering.

I thought I heard something the other day that in this situation it would be almost impossible for some piece of evidence to not exist showing who planted the bomb, due to the massive amount of cameras that get trained on the route during the marathon. I think its just a matter of time and man power to sift through all of it.

I was thinking about that...as they ask for photos, etc. Assuming all of that is somewhat time stamped, it's TONS of info, but they may really be able to patch together some pretty telling info, going back minutes or even hours. I also think then, layering that with other data, how it's a HUGE task, but all of a sudden you can start piecing it all together.

I even heard one of the pressure cookers appears to have the serial number visible. Again, they may be able to then track it back to manufacture, when/where shipped, and start digging into, potentially, a stores data as well.

Not the only "suspect" picture I've seen, there's several going around it seems.

I hadn't seen this. Interesting. Again, as I posted somewhere else, you start clipping together other people's photos and you may see these types of peoples progress, etc.

here's another one. Someone on 4chan claims to have tied the backpack that the bomb was in to a person in the crowd, using pictures taken of the scene. Purely speculative. Guy just could have had a similar backpack.

When it comes to a lot of things, social media is horrible - many people are already using it to gain followers on twitter.

But I do think social media is going to help find this person, so it has its uses as well.

How exactly do you go about looking like you belong as a spectator of a marathon? Do you have to have a sweatband on or something? What about the baby in this pic:

Clearly this baby does not belong in a marathon, someone track her down immediately for questioning.

Oh damn, the guy in the brown jacket and hat wearing a backpack in the picture I just posted. Got a black backpack and a hat to conceal his identity. He's not even wearing running shoes and he's at a marathon, that's suspicious.

Yes, I'm sure nearly everyone will be looked at, probably not because they don't look like a marathon runner though.

Because this is exactly what they are doing right now. Pouring over thousands of pics/videos and looking for things like this, things that MAY not belong or look right.

What i find ironic is how one week prior Pitino crouching at the loud streamer poppers is within seconds a viral gif on the internet and then a week later the real thing isn't a laughing matter.

Of course they will look at everything and begin to narrow the results. Things like "don't look like they belong" will be a criteria.

Yeah, me too. Had the surround sound up and it popped pretty good from the rear speakers. That's what I was seeing too, it's all funny at the time and then this happens. Complacency is a %^&$(.
