kilroy- when would you say the "Golden Age" of NASCAR was? Just curious.

This is a loaded question.

I love that the cars in the 60-70s and even some into the 80's actually used to be the cars right off the assembly line with roll cages installed in them.

But the late 80's earnhardt/bill elliot era was some good racing.

As usual when you look back you never see the bad and the problem with the 70s was that often races were won by LAPS not by seconds, and they didnt have enough competitive teams.

I wish they had to take cars and make them race cars.

I gonna wish wash on you and say every era has some good and some bad racing in it but I used to like the "stock" cars better.

Nope, just 1 indy win. And with a field of about 12 cars the odds are in your favor.

yeah it will. Didn't they do a repave on Daytona last year or recently? Maybe that's part of it? Daytona always seems to have more of the single file than Dega

Yes last year was a new repave, and I laughed my *** off when that dryer blew up and burned off half the new surface in one of the turns (cant remember which corner now). Yes 200mph with no braking or pace changes into the corner does tend to make everything single file.

Ive never been a fan of daytona just for this reason. Like I said, short tracks are always fun not matter which cars, Its the 1.5mile tracks that show you how boring/exciting racing will be.

I cant wait though to see the trucks on dirt at Eldora this year.
