Twice now I've ordered from Lowe's and both times they have ****ed it up. I ordered a washer dryer stack set on 21 Dec. Was supposed to be delivered in 7-14 days. I checked on it on Thursday (day 9) and it was supposed to be at their warehouse from GE the next day. I called Monday (day 13) and the guy said they just tried to call me and my number was disconnected. He read me the number and it's a landline I haven't had since 2009. I gave them my current cell number when I ordered it. He took my current number and said he'd update it on the computer. Said the reason he tried to call is because it didn't come in yet. He expected it on today's truck. I waited until 10 expecting them to be calling to deliver it. I called and got the other guy who works in appliances. He read off my phone number again. Still the old 2009 one. Gave him the new one again. Guess what. It was supposedly shipped from GE to Lowes on the 22nd. Lowes claims it never was received. The order has been "lost". "That happens sometimes." Now they suggest they have to cancel the original order and refund it back to the credit card and reorder it again today. So now some chickie is going to call me and ask for my credit card information over the phone. Like that's going to happen! But instead of shipping it to the warehouse they will ship it directly to the local store. Um, why didn't they do that in the first place? This will take another 3-5 days (like I believe their estimate.) Back in 2009 I ordered a built in oven for my house to replace the old one in preparation for selling it. Completely different store in a different state. They ordered it and it never came and it never came. I made multiple calls and got delivery date promises. Finally one day they informed me the original order I placed never actually got ordered at all! - and so that's why I never received it. DON'T EVER ORDER ANYTHING FROM LOWE'S. If it's in the store, fine, if you order it they will **** it up sure as anything. Now I have company coming on Sunday for 10 days and who knows if I'll even have a washer/dryer.

The problem with Lowes is about a year ago they took away the commission from their specialists (which resulted in 20-40% paycuts for the good ones). The result was any employee that was worth anything went and found a new job. The leftovers who are running the store now don't care because they took large paycuts and can't find another job - so they just show up and get their hourly rate.

I got a new fridge from Lowe's when they were running the appliance rebates a few years ago, and it went fine. They did scratch the door slightly when delivering it, but also gave me the opition of Taking $75 discount or replacing the door. I did get stainless steel even though I wanted white, but that was not Lowe's fault, as everyone in town was not able to meet the orders for the appliances with the rebates. It could be that this was before the employee policies listed above, but the store staff was very helpful and they did match a better price I found at Sears, so I was real happy.

I get around
I have ordered washer and dryer, kitchen stove, microwave from Lowes in Altoona and about 6 months ago a refrigerator, from Home Depot in Ankeny. No problems on any of them. Delivered and installed on time and old ones hauled away.

I got a scratch dent fridge from lowes about 5 years ago. I was told the person dropped it while delivering it. I got it for 1/3 the price. Was working great till the blizzard a couple weeks ago, but we are all fixed up now.

Calendar days or business days? There's a HUGE difference in this case.

And Lowe's has been excellent for ordering the fridge/washer/dryer/dishwasher for me.

Calendar Days. Glad everyone else has had good luck. Maybe it's just the Lowe's in Davenport Iowa and now the one in Jensen Beach FL. It's not like the people I'm working with seem inept or anything. Just that the result is ZERO. Of course they're VERY sorry. Of course they've had my money since 21 December. Seems like it's pretty easy to be "sorry" when it doesn't really mean anything on their end.

Bought a wall oven and refrigerator from Lowes this summer. Wall oven had a huge scratch inside that had to be returned and refrigerator was returned 4 times due to doors not lining up. I thought the last one was fine only to have delivery guys scratch it when installing it. Manager apologized and I ended up paying about 60% of the price. Appliances are fairly expensive anymore but the quality is losing ground in my view.

It's because Americans stopped wanting to pay for American made (Maytag) prices.

The only time i ever had a problem was when i was ordering the pedastals for my washer and dryer. Gave me 3 different delivery dates before it finally arrived. They also never called to let me know that they didn't arrive the first 2 times. Had to go to the store and then they told me they never shipped.

I bought a dishwasher from Lowe's and had no problems but it was in stock.

If you are not in a huge hurry, check out appliancesconnection.com. I ordered HE washer/dryer from them a couple years ago and saved over $800 vs. Sears. The delivery came via freight and was slow, took 2-3 weeks, and they showed up at 11pm! But I kept telling myself hey, I saved $800.

Um... What calendar are you using?

Dec. 21 was 12 days ago. Given there was two holidays in that timeframe where no shipping was conducted, it's really day 10.

Allow them the proper time they gave you before you start blasting a company for wrongdoing.

It was actually the 18th. I was PO'd when I wrote this and was going from memory. Yes I knew there were two holidays in there, and so did Lowes when they quoted me 7-14 days.
