One-Hit Wonders

One Fine Morning - Lighthouse

Lighthouse (not to be confused with Edison Lighthouse) may have had a few other minor hits, but this is the only that you usually hear.

Good rockin' tune. Also, one of the best rock intros ever...

Moonlight Feels Right - Starbuck

Probably the only marimaba solo in rock history. It won't get more '70s than this...

Smoke from a Distant Fire - Sanford Townsend Band

Almost forgot about this one. Great Southern rock tune.

"Don't let the screen door hit you on your way out"...

Didn't they sing that "Hanging by a Moment" song? If not, whoever did that was a one hit wonder.

.

That song hit #68 on the Billboard chart in 1975,Head East has no top 40 hits with "Since You Been Gone" hitting #46 in 1978 being their highest charted song.

If you were at an ISU party in the mid 1970's you definitely heard it. It was totally a regional Midwestern album cut hit. Add in some REO Speedwagon Ridin the Storm Out and Styx Lady and you were pretty much the ****.

Meredith Brooks - I'm a *****

I'm surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet. Unless it has and I missed it.

I also find it astonishing that this one hasn't been mention yet. I mean come on people. :twitcy:

Wasn't there a thread about songs that are guilty pleasures? This one falls into that category for me.

Gonna have to call ******** on Natalie. "Wishing I Was There" got a lot of airplay also, and it looks like it peaked at #19 in the US. That qualifies as a hit.

Ok, I stand corrected. And PittClone, you're not the only one with this guilty pleasure.

I also would be guilty guilty guilty however if Natalie were to ever proposition me. Good thing the wife never reads CF.

Ha, that's Lifehouse. Actually heard them on the radio about a year ago and was surprised they are still relevant. Looks like they've put four songs in the Top 40, so not a one-hit wonder (which is a wonder in itself).

What about that bad from Liverpool back in the 60's. Talk about One Hit Wonders, 2 of them are not even living now

You mean Frankie Goes to Hollywood? Yeah they were a one hit wonder, but that was the 80's not the 60's. Or do you mean Dead or Alive? Yeah, they had this big hit.
