***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***

the smart thing the BigXII did was schedule the last week of BigXII games on the same weekend as the Conference championship games. That will help with appearances, and reduce the effect of playing one less game than other teams.

Actually, the "smarter" thing they did was kept the Kansas-K-State game off of the final week of the season. Any gains by having K-State play the same week as the CCGs would have been nullified by playing that train wreck of a team.

KSU will be playing a likely ranked Texas on CCG weekend. Great opponent and exposure. Worked out perfectly for the Big 12.

This. I really hope that Oregon, K-State, and Notre Dame win out. 1) because it will guarantee an end to SEC title run. 2) The Irish will likely get snubbed for the title game, causing a great deal of butthurt.

I quit following Swaim and The Dude. Both post way too often with nothing interesting.

As far as Big 12 expansion goes, I think the only way it happens is if the Big 12 is forced to do so somehow. I don't see it happening. If K-State gets jumped by both ND and Oregon for lack of a championship game, it may happen sooner rather than later.

IF expansion does happen, I think it would be L'ville and BYU. Both bring decent athletic programs and decent football. BYU brings a lot of TV sets country-wide, in addition to quality academics. L'ville brings in Lexington, L'ville, and Indy (not too shabby). Also, three time zones opens up a whole new time slot for football games. That would please the TV corporations.

Honestly id rather have Louisville than ND. Obviously a smaller value, but a much smaller ego as well. ND would be a problem wherever they ended up joining.

It makes no sense to expand unless the value is greater then or equal to $20 million/year.

Not interested in expansion. I like the 10 teams we have and the round robin. For me there is no interest in playing Notre Dame, FSU, Louisville etc especially if it means we aren't playing Oklahoma/ OSU/ and UT every year. I'd much rather play them than any of these teams that have been suggested for expansion. I couldn't care less about expanding to 12 so we can have a championship football game that KU isn't going to be playing in anyways. KU/KSU/ and ISU will benefit greatly for having twice the exposure in Texas we ever did in the old big 12 by staying at 10.

If this is true, look for Pac12 to make moves soon...and if Maryland is paying 50 mil buyout then no one is safe. 14 or 16 looks like the new normal.
