Disappointed with Nealy

You want to show us something? Make a play! Showing us you can throw a tantrum on the field isn't showing us anything. I think it's funny that people think Nealy wanted it more than everyone else on the team just b/c he acted like a child.

Instead of ******** Nealy, go make a play and help this team out

He did make one play. Did you miss him crushing the OSU guy on one of his few runs? He did drop that ball which was bad but there wasn't anything there anyway. I don't think he should have done it either and I don't think it showed he wanted it more than anyone else but I am sort of getting sick of the attitude it seems the offense has.

How can he make a play when the QB skips a pass to him or throws it three feet behind him? There is nothing wrong with showing frustration. If a QB can yell at a receive for running the wrong route or dropping a pass, why can't a RB do the same thing when the QB can't throw a decent pass?

If you think Nealy acted like a child, I assume you also think Rhoads acts like a child a lot during games, such as at TCU?

This is a pretty good point. Relative to other coaches Rhoads is very animated. You have to expect his players to follow suit at times. Again, shouldn't have done it but it's not that big of a deal. It happened and was done. Next series he was trying his best to shove Jantz forward on the sneak. It hasn't become a pattern so let's settle down.

Well yeah obviously but his little childish rant in the 4th quarter was just stupid. It was Steele's second play for crying out loud and it's not like Nealy had a ton of room to run anyway. I didn't see him ******** at Barnett for missing like 15 passes terribly. Friggin shut up and play, and don't hype out like a little kid because a bad pass was thrown your way. The next pass wasn't good either but Nealy fumbled it around like a girl and eventually dropped it. I suppose Steele should have lashed out on him.

Oh **** man, steele doesn't get a pass on a bad second throw or even a first...he was a starter and is a senior back-up, he is expected to make good passes from the moment he takes a snap. You have been an ISU apologist for too long apparently.

Yes because Nealy would rather Chuck Norris a football than score a touchdown.

I liked it. Need more football players, less scheme actors. I know everyone wants to pat our defense on the back, but I have seen them slack back into MacCarney era 10yard cushion on 3rd and 8's and so forth. They are doing what they were coached to do in some stupid scheme instead of playing ball like their instincts have told them to do since they were 8 years old playing in the yard. Cover the freaking reciever.....if you need a 10 yard cushion, you shouldn't be in Div. 1 football.
That one tall defensive end we have is consistently lets the other teams offensive linemen get under his pads on run plays.......uh, is that day one or what? I realize you are tall, but dude, listen to coach....I hope they are coaching you better.

Yes lets turn this thread into a rip the D thread. Are you really ripping on what Wally and CPR are doing on D?

None of this happens if Woody doesn't drop the screen pass on first down.

Woodys drop was horrible he had 10 yards in front of him and it would have gotten Steele rolling. Instead Jantz made 2 poor decisions and throws the next 2 plays after Woody's drop and we 3 and outed.

You are right. Jantz made a good play there and an accurate throw, and the drop put the offense behind the chains.

I have to admit I wasn't the happiest with how Nealy showed his frustration but I'd take what he did over not showing any emotion at all after the performance that the entire offense was putting on. I also think that after that though he deserves to be shown frustration by others when he screws up a play. I didn't like it but at the same time I was freaking out on my couch and was just happy to see someone show emotion since no one seems to take leadership. I don't know if it was just me but in the K-State game I believe Lenz was showing frustration when Barnett threw a quick screen to the ride side of the field and missed him or if it was just me. I'm just glad to see some players showing they care, even if it's not exactly how I'd hope.

He shoved his QB? Tre, I think you hit upon the real problem. This is unacceptable! He should be benched next week. During practice this week he should be taped to the goal post until he decides to apologize to the entire team in the form of a Gregorian chant.

Come on people. Are we really analyzing what the RB did for half a second at the end of a play in a very frustrating offensive game? Everyone is making assumptions about what he was frustrated about and at who his frustration was directed. There are also a lot of assumptions about what happened after his little outburst. Someone said they'll be back on his bandwagon if he spontaneously apologizes to the team - how will you know if this did or didn't happen? Maybe he needs to call a press conference and apologize to the entire Cyclone fanbase.

This whole offense is frustrated. Hopefully he and the rest of the offense will be able to channel their frustration. I would really like for one or more of the offensive team leaders to call an offensive player only meeting. They need to circle the wagons at this point and take their frustration out on an anemic Baylor defense.

I loved it. Someone on the field needs to be ******. Everyone watching was ****** that the freaking qb bounced another easy pass to him. We are wasting a special season because of **** poor play calling, bad qb play, what ever you want to call it. I enjoyed his reaction.

It sounded like someone was going there in the press conference today. Rhoads shut them down and said that there has been no fingerpointing on this team.

FWIW.

i have seen SJ21 play with a ton of emotion and energy. not once have i seen him throw a fit like nealy did. unacceptable.

i will give him a chance to learn from it, though.

I don't care if it's "football" or fans wanted to see emotion b/c the offense was frustrating all day.....What Devondrick Nealy did on the field was flat out wrong, PERIOD. You don't show up another player on your team, let alone the Quarterback. There is no doubt in my mind that Nealy heard about it from the coaching staff after the game. You just don't do that.

With that said, what he did leads to a bigger issue. We have no leadership at a position where leadership is most needed. Does anyone really think Nealy would have ever done that to Austen Arnaud or Bret Meyer? Hell no. And the team wouldn't have let him get away with it either. But nobody looks up to our current QB's and thus we have redshirt freshmen RB's that haven't done squat in their careers yelling at them on the field. Seriously? Devondrick Nealy? Maybe the kid is all world talent, but at this time in his career he has done nothing, so shut your mouth, get back in the huddle, and find a way to help this team win some games.

I hope White comes back this week and we bench Nealy and he gets no snaps. That's how much I thought of his childish tirade on the field. And I was one of the people hoping he would get more carries all year. But the kid has to learn a lesson about what it's like to play on a team. You don't call out your teammates like that on the field

And this just in from the department of reading WAY TOO MUCH into things.

It's all an opinion on how you view a team. On my college team, if I acted that way on the field, my coach would have pulled me out and I guarantee I wouldn't have played the next game. Guaranteed. You can show emotion on the field by planting a guy on his ***, trucking a guy on a run, etc. You don't need to show emotion by acting like a child and showing up the QB of your team.

Just b/c Nealy threw a mini tantrum on the field for everyone to see, doesn't mean he wanted to win anymore than anyone else on the team. That is a point that I think many fans are missing when they praise Nealy for actually showing "emotion"

Another? It was the QB's 2nd pass of the game. The first dropped by another RB.

How do you know others weren't ******? Was it because they weren't throwing tantrums for everyone to see? For all we know Farniok was ****** off too.

Frustration about a crappy offense from a redshirt freshman getting his substantial playing time in college. It was a mistake but it is what is, move on. We have WWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more to worry about on the offensive side of the ball than this.

Not worrying about it at all. It's not something to worry about. But it's not something to be praised and it's something he surely was coached not to do again
