Where's Bundrage?

Because LBs are the same as skilled position players. Wait, they aren't. Look at the best receivers the Big12 has produced lately. They all were producing monster numbers as sophomores. Is Bundrage going to do that? Likely not, so I am going to say he won't be the next Dez Bryant, Blackmon, or Crabtree. No knock on him, but he was not the most highly valued player coming out of HS, and is showing limitations. Jantz threw a couple his way early in the season, and he didn't really show great ability tracking the ball down the seam or separating from the defender.
Id be interested to hear why LB benefit from time in the program but WR dont. Also, of those 3, Crabtree was the only dominant freshman. Blackmon, after recieving very little interest in recruiting, went on to post 260 yards as a freshman. We all know what happened after that.

I think it's going to be really tough for Bundrage to do much this year. There are a lot of veteran WR's that he isn't going to play over or take targets away from. For him I think this year is all about getting reps and preparing to take a much larger role next year.

Based on Lenz's results after the "Where's Lenz?" threads. I'm expecting at least 4 TDs from him against KSU.

I agree, if a player is going to be special, he should do more than just play special teams as a frosh. Sincerely, AJ and Jake

Bad examples considering they were anchoring our defense in their 2nd year in the program and that's where Bundrage is at right now.

Plus, it's not like I'm eliminating the idea of him being an All B12 player...I just think he'll be similar to Lenz and Money, a solid player but not NFL talent.

Money was an NFL talent, but he didn't have NFL hands. Lenz is a more productive receiver, but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't go to an NFL camp like Money did. I obviously want him to though, and be successful... I just don't think hes as 'talented' even though hes more reliable and productive.

My point was that they didn't necessarily show us much the first year they saw the field, but really blossomed into big time players the following year. Likely a big part of that was being exposed to the speed of the game a whole year and knowing what to expect. I'm not at all saying Bundrage will big an All Big 12 player, but we have some decent examples of what can happen when a young player has a year to adjust to the game while older guys hold down the position (I believe it was Raven, Garrin, and Smith that year).

He's getting snaps as redshirt frosh in the Big12. There will be even more snaps and a lot of throws to catch with him as a main target when Lenz and Horne are gone. I expect him to be a big target next year - beyond that, it's on him to become whatever he aspires to be with his talent.

Its so nice to see a guy getting written off 5 games into his redshirt freshman season. Some of you guys are too much.
