Non Conference schedule so far

Here’s how I’d like to fill the blanks. I dropped the dates but kept the general order.

In bold are teams for the open dates. And I dropped one slot to create 13, not 14 NC.

North Dakota
Campbell
NCA&T
vs Cincinnati @Las Vegas
vs UNLV/Oregon @Las Vegas
BYU
Florida Gulf Coast
@Iowa
UNO
vs Drake @Des Moines
@UMKC
Minnesota*
Yale

*I realize Minnesota isn’t going to happen this year, just something I’ve been pushing toward for many years. I would welcome a similar-type opponent in short-term, if the parties agree.

Still quite a bit of Soft, but the Vegas tournament, BYU, Iowa in IC, high-risk game @UMKC. Decent number of road/neutral sites, coupled with round-robin in a competitive league, SOS should be fine & RPI potential is solid.

For future, I suggest bulking up, gradually, but not all-out brutal. I’d like to see one other BCS-conference matchup, such as a Big 12/SEC Challenge.

I'd be fun with 3 creampuff teams or middlers at this point.

We have enough meat in the noncon with 4 solid games (Cincy, next Vegas game, BYU, Iowa) to prove ourselves. That's a huge step for our schedule and program.

Not sure that we need anymore. I'd love to see Minnesota happen, too, but I'm not sure we need it.

We keep going after top Minnesota talent, so it would make sense for us to try setting up a game with them, but not sure if Tubby really thinks it'd be a good situation for them or not.

Would be fun though, and as history has shown, we have a good number of alumni in the cities.

It certainly seems more lucrative for ISU than UM — recruiting, fan base in Cities, etc., would favor Iowa State. (And ISU fans near Ames would make the trip north more so than Minnesota fans doing the opposite, I'd imagine).

I think the general historic equality of both programs and potential to build regional rivalry, it has big-picture advantages.

when is the first day of practice for college basketball and when is the first official college basketball game(not including exhibitions) Anyone know?

I'd like to see an eventual home and home series with one of the better schools to the north: Minnesota, Wisconsin, or Marquette.

My guess would be that they wanted to get a game near a big group of alumni. I imagine the KC Cyclones appreciate it.

I def appreciate any Iowa State game in KC. Plans to bring tons of Cyclone friends with me to this game.

The SEC already has a challenge series with the Big East, if we want another challenge we would have to go back to the Pac12, or a Mid-Major which none of you would be in favor of.

It's confirmed. Iowa State at Iowa on December 7th. Also the Big 12 schedule comes out tomorrow morning. Does anyone know when our entire schedule is going to be released?
