I didn't post in the In-State Rivals forum since I hoped it would stay civil. Sorry, mods, if this was a foolish assumption.

One poster noted that Iowa's Rivals/Scout sites are pretty good; do people agree that this draws traffic away from HawkeyeNation?

I don't know that HawkeyeNation's poor aesthetics are to blame; even Tigerboard (which is about the most visually repulsive site I've ever seen) has an Alexa rank of 55,261...way higher than HawkNation.

HN just isn't very good. I've been on it before and there are just a bunch of slobs over there. I assume that typical hawk fans are congregating somewhere else.

CF is the #1 destination for Cyclones fans and I can't imagine that's the case for Iowa fans and HN. HN is an inferior product.

The big difference here is Iowa has 3-4 free boards that get a fair amount of traffic. ISU only has one in CF. I would imagine if Iowa only had 1 it would get more traffic than CF.

It has direct correlation to internet availability, and ability to read and type. Obviously there is going to be far less Hawk fans that can do this.

I havent even read this thread but I can tell you how stupid this comparison is. Off the top of my head there are 4 main Iowa boards.

1. Hawkeye Report -Rivals
2. Hawkeye Nation - independent
3. Hawkeye Lounge - independent
4. Hawkeye Insider - Scout

Hawkeye Report has high traffic, much higher than Hawkeye Nation. If you combine them all and combine Cyclone Fanatic traffic with what's left of Cyclone Report (Rivals) I guarantee the Iowa internet precence far outweighs the Cyclone one just like in real life...BIG FREAKING SURPRISE THERE!!1!
