. . . closer or further away after that fiasco of a performance?

Or is Karma coming back to bite him again?

Probably done. Roy Williams historically recruits to make a NC title run every 3-4 years. He factors in who will leave early, who will stay 4, etc. They got bit hard by the injury bug this year, especially in the tournament. With a healthy Henson and Marshall I think they'd still be playing, in addition to a healthy Strickland and McDonald who were lost earlier in the year.

poor Harrison! bet he wishes he was part of rebuilding the machine known as isu basketball.. Great year for Cyclones.... disappointment for tar heels again....

Why are people so bent out of shape still about Harrison. If he would have committed here, we would still have McDermott. Would you rather have that than what we have going for us now?

back to back elite eights at iowa state, HB is a legend, giving freddy a run for most popular player of all time.

back to back elite eights at UNC, and HB is viewed as the most overrated recruit in UNC history and many UNC fans will think "good riddance."

HB is encouraging all UNC fans to wear carolina blue to the dean dome this week so he can skype david stern.

It worked out. At least we had a player of similar or greater impact for one year while Barnes might have been playing for ISU.

It's similar to Hinrich who changed commitment, he was a very good four year player but really not great until his junior and senior seasons. Having Tinsley for two years made up for that one quite a bit in the win column.

The only thing I wonder about Barnes is if playing somewhere like ISU where he's clearly "the man" might have brought out killer instincts more than UNC. He doesn't "need" that for an NBA career but he needs that more than anything else to have a chance at being an NBA star.

Except the odds of us making back to back elite 8's if he stayed were about 0.

I really have no ill will towards Harrison. I don't blame him for going elsewhere to play. I don't think I would have wanted to play for ISU the way things were going. That being said, he did not have a good tournament and if I had to choose, I'm glad we had CFH and Royce this year instead of McD and Harrison, not even close.

Greg McDermott in an ESPN interview prior to Creighton's NCAA games admitted he did not want his own son to play in the type of program he had created.

The article was ignored here because we were all wrapped up in ISU/UConn but he basically admitted a ton of mistakes and that he wanted a better situation for Doug.

Given all that and that Doug and HB were teammates, how on Earth can anyone be mad he chose Michael Jordan U?

Would have loved for him to be a Cyclone, but Harrison has turned out to be one the most over-hyped HS players in the country.

I don't blame HB in any way for choosing to play for North Carolina. I mean, it's tough to turn down a top-shelf program like that, especially when our program was in such poor shape.

But I do have a tough time forgiving the way HB made his announcement, big-timing his hometown fans like that. It was a smaller, more local version of the LeBron James announcement. Nobody would begrudge a press conference and for him to have his moment, but to throw the doors open and invite everyone then Skyping Roy Williams...that's just a shameful thing to do.
