Not too happy that I will have to spend most of signing day in class.

An official thread cannot be official until someone calls the OP a credit *****, so....

Messi you're a credit *****.

I believe it was Aka that said on Twitter that he will be faxing in his LOI at 7:01.

If someone had to put a % to it, what are your gut feelings about possibly landing Simon or Montgomery? I personally have a bad feeling about Simon and a good feeling about Montgomery, just a feeling though.

I wrote this last night--didn't want to start a new thread!

BOOM Goes the Dynamite

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve. Am I going to open my presents tomorrow morning and find a Super D’Vario game, a Simon Says, four seasons of Lawry and Order? What other surprises might there be in my stocking? I’m giddy with hope and expectation!

Here’s the thing. Any and all of these three guys, Damien Lawry, Gary Simon or D’Vario Montgomery would move the program steps ahead that couldn’t have been expected. Snagging all three could mean a light year leap in progress. Remember how Ter’ran Benton and Leonard Johnson helped to solidify the secondary for four seasons? That’s what these two players mean. A foundation that eases recruiting pressures, and allows both focus elsewhere, as well as selectivity upon quality. Two quality players who allow for strength and competition in the backfield.

D’Vario Montgomery means something different. With the foundation of talent already established, he is the step forward in “selectivity”. I had focused on him last summer, not merely because he had been Sam Richardson’s favorite target. Just one look at his film shows an impressive level of sheer athleticism—he’s simply fluid. Speed, hands and size to go along with it makes for a wonderful package. My first thought was that he’d make a great replacement for Money Reynolds’ athleticism. Even better, I like the way he fits with the other rising “pieces” who have their entire careers ahead. Not only Bundrage and Ecby, or even Quan West, as if that isn’t enough. Patrick Harris will be good. Still, the guy I really like the thought of seeing Montgomery and Co. playing next to is Dondre Daley—the one player with a similar level of size and raw athleticism. Not that any of the other guys are chopped liver. We can more than survive not adding Montgomery, but bring D’Vario into the fold as well, and the receiving future is very, very bright in Cyaritaville.

What recurring CF subplot will this year's thread bring? First coupons, now what?

Don't forget about the 5 pages of posts about how many more may or may not sign based on the number of lines available on the cyclones.com page. That seems to be a good one once we hit 18 that have signed.
