Big 12 North?

I asked a simple question. How is that stirring something up? My post was non-confrontational.

I really believe there are 2 North schools with options - KU and ISU. And I believe either, or both, of those schools will get a serious look from the B1G during their next wave of expansion.

Please don't project your ill-will and hatefulness onto me.

To answer the question, I think none of the B12N schools will be the "next" to leave. Only one non-Bevo program in the Big 12 remains with options for another major conference, and that's OU. If OU stays put, so will OKSt, and the Big 12 might survive.

Big 12 meltdown scenarios are pretty much limited to 1) OU to the SEC or Pac-12; and 2) UT goes football-independent. I happen to think that one or both are likely in the future, but we will see.

I don't think that Missouri benefits from a superconference structure, and I want the rest of the Midwest to stay viable in college football, so I'm hoping that the Big 12 gets its issues worked out and continues to survive.

Even though you get alot of hate on here...you aren't that bad of a poster...though don't put down ISU..you are on a cyclone message board..usually doesn't go well here
 
Missouri had it's legs spread for the last three years, finally the SEC, lacking any moral fiber, picked up a cheap *****. Good riddance.

Noteworthy? What, did this just all just happen under the cover of night? The Big XII North has only existed since '96, so it's not as if ISU fans are all weeping about a decades old tradition going by the wayside.

I do love how all the Mizzou fans who like the SEC move just keep on insisting that the Big XII is unstable. Let's see, the conference just hammered out perhaps the best revenue sharing model in the BCS, it has schools fighting to get into the conference with US senators even getting in the fray, and is in serious talks with ND about joining. I might add that this coming June, schools will be getting $20 M+ in TV revenue; which by the way is more than the SEC splits. If all that spells instability, then I must be missing something. And can we stop all this Texas as an independent talk already? What would Texas gain by doing that?... Nothing.

I think it's noteworthy that we have Missouri fans continuing to visit this board and convince us that Missouri's move to the SEC was a good idea, when nobody in the B12 seems to think so, and nobody in the SEC seems to care either way.

This. It is absolutely amazing. The intent is a "so long suckers" post under the guise of thoughtful consideration toward college athletics. Missouri is gone. Great. Now go away. I don't hold any ill will, but do think that those put in a position to act in the best interest of the university made a horrendous mistake. But, their decision doesn't affect me in the least beyond these few fleeting thoughts: We are not "suckers" for being in the Big 12. The Big 12 is not going to die. MU is not going to the B1G - ever. MU is in the SEC - yawn. Gloating requires the other party to be jealous. We are not jealous. You are not "southern". But you may now be irrelevant. Please, just go away.

I don't need to be a mind reader...how come no other poster on the board would respond to your "simple" question? The only person who gave an answer was you, with that lame Big 10 nonsense. If you want to play with yourself like that, you don't need to do it here.

If NU had posted a question like that on a Missouri board LAST year, what do you think the reaction would have been? It's trolling, plain and simple. MU got what they wanted, and now you want to revel in it by expressing your "support" of a highly unlikely scenario.

Way to be classy.

They are able to do that because they currently play in the most popular conference in the State of Texas (which wont be changing anytime soon) and can also guarantee there will be games played in Texas. Mizzou is going to lose both those pitches, and I just about guarantee they start losing Texas recruits to KSU, Kansas and ISU. They will now have to compete off Missouri recruits, and recruits from the SEC states. If youre a recruit from Alabama, and Aurburn and Alabama pass you up, why would you choose Missouri over Kentucky or Vanderbelt?

+1 the Big 12 may be better than the SEC this year but soon the Texas pipeline will dry up and Mizzou wont be as talented as they are now, therefore becoming the SEC's *****.
