Iowa State will beat Baylor.

For some reason, I doubt that the woes we continue to have with shooting ourselves in the foot will just magically disappear. I think we can "contain" RG3, but our offense hasn't shown we can win in a shootout (which is what it would take). Yes we put up 44 on Iowa, but in regulation that 24 is our highest output of the season (20, 24, 24, 14). I'd guess somewhere around 38-24 in favor of Baylor.

You underestimate the garbocity that is Baylors D. They make UNI look like the '85 bears.

True, but early in the season you have very little to go on. It's better than no info at all.

You guys did very well against UConn defensively. 4.4 per play, 3 turnovers, 41% passing, and 14 long distance points.

I would be surprised if you guys shut us down. Saturday will be interesting to watch. Hopefully a good game with no injuries for either side.

I'm not suggesting in any way that we have any chance of shutting your offense down. You will get your points against our defense. The big question will be whether our offense can score more against your defense then you do against ours. Turnovers will be a big factor, and I'm hoping that ISU can do much better in that statistic then they have in the first four games.

Statistically, Baylor's defense is slightly better than ISU's at this point in the season. ISU is better against the run, Baylor is better against the pass. Baylor is better in PPG, YPG, and yards/play.

Yeah, I know their non-conf schedule wasn't great, but it's not like UNI and UCONN are stellar offenses.

I think the biggest question is which team has more fans in the stands for this game?

Last time we played there, there was enough empty seats for ISU fans to takeover their stadium. Problem is, nobody wants to be in Waco, TX. Even Arnaud on the Monday Evening QB radio show expressed how much they hated traveling to Waco.

Quite frankly I feel like many Big 12 teams have that same attitude about Ames.

No way we shut you guys down, we have to hope for a Kstate type of win. The QB/WR combo of Baylor is enough to keep putting points up on anyone. No one in the country has it easier than those 2 groups due to the way teams have to respect RG's running ability. The WR (who are very good) get single coverage in space, and teams have to telegraph coverage giving RG (already a smart QB)easy decisions. It's almost unfair.

The last 2 times ISU came to Waco we had poor teams and an admin that was strictly enforcing alcohol rules at tailgates. Both have changed and BU has averaged 40,000 for the last 6 teams that bring nobody to waco. We had 40,000 for Rice, SFA, SHSU, Buffalo, KU, KSU, and UConn in the last 3 years.

We had as many people left in the stands after a rain delay in a blowout against SFA as we had at kickoff for either of the past 2 ISU games. Night and day difference.

Like I said, nobody wants to be in Waco, TX except your home crowd.

Never said that we were better. Stating that is why you barely have visting teams bring fans. Quick Question - Ever visited Ames, IA?

Not personally, but I have heard many second hand accounts personally. Also I would say Waco is not the reason visiting Big 12 north fans aren't here, I would say distance is #1 on that one as regional teams show up fine.

I can't believe this ******* match. ISU will have to show some things that they haven't so far this season (creating turnovers, hanging on to the football, and penalty discipline) for them to win this game. I like this Cyclone team but I cannot predict a win until I see them take care of these things.

Zero credibility in your comparison then. Move along Sammy.

Zero credibility for any clones who have not been here in the last 2 years. It's that different on our end in terms of gameday atmosphere.

If you went to Waco, when did you go?

I think Baylor is going to take us to the wood shed, not feeling good about this game at all, RGIII scary QB he could have 300 yards against us, I don't think we have anyone that could contain him

Yeah your right on bro its on to the waco woodshed for us come sat nite..

Good old Griffin is averaging 380 yrds per game according to the genuises on the radio.....

Not yet but it is on the DVR and will be watched in the next 2-3 nights along with UConn.

Going off stats right now and the 6 yards per play matches what non-defenses at Rice and UCLA gave up pretty closely. I would give ISU a pass but BYU statistically held that group in check post-gilbert benching.

I am going off my own key measures. As I said before, scores can lie about defenses and offenses. I typically look at averages per play, points driven more than 45-50 yards for, turnovers as measures of relative strength for offensive and defensive strength.

Averaging the numbers from Iowa (regulation) and UT who are the 2 good offenses you faced:

5.69 per play
4.04 per carry (no sacks)
.5 turnovers forced
19 long-distance points surrendered
11.5 short field points

Compare it to Baylor with TCU and KSU
5.24 per play
5.2 per carry (no sacks) and per pass play (all attempts & sacks together)
1 Turnover forced avg
25 long range points
18 short field points

Take away the one 63 yard KSU QB scramble and our run averages fall to 4.82 (no sacks) and our YPP is 4.99.

So both struggle and are put in bad spots. I think both are better than the average perception.

Good lord... who cares?? You can stat it out all you want (both sides), fact remains that the game will be decided on Saturday night regardless of previous performance or how many YPC in the previous games vs. previous opponents.

Can we just have a blanket message for all annoying* Baylor fans?

*This does not include the non annoying one(s).
