Iowa State will beat Baylor.

I have been watching the games again from this year and I noticed that Texas only scored on drives where we made a mistake (penalty/turnover) and I know that was the same as the UConn game. Anyone else notice this?

This is a very cool statistic that speaks very well about our defense. Stopping Texas on 4th down in the 1st quarter was huge, but then the mistakes piled up.

Wish I could share the optimism of this thread.

But if you go back and look at the KSU-Baylor game, Baylor scored 5 TD's and I believe every "drive" was less than 3 minutes. Scoring drives of 7 plays, 6 plays, 2 plays, 5 plays, and 8 plays. And that was on the road. This will be by far the best offense we have faced yet.

KSU was able to win by keeping their offense on the field and matching Baylor in scoring.

But ISU's offense can't seem to quit stepping on our own dicks. So, this is a real bad matchup unless something drastic occurs (Baylor turns the ball over multiple times).

Glad this thread migrated back to football talk. I'm looking forward to the game this weekend as both teams are coming off disappointing losses in games where they felt they either should have won or at least could have been competitive. Jantz as a passer doesn't worry me too much, but his mobility does give me pause. Klein hurt us on a few QB scrambles last week and the potential is there for Jantz to do the same thing. Plus, if we haven't fixed our kickoff returns and coverage, all bets are off. Hope any Cyclones that make the trip enjoy themselves and get in some solid tailgating. Weather should be awesome this weekend, temperature-wise!

For good reason, too. Jantz is the lowest rated passer in the conference, by a mile.

after i have read the last comments-baylor wins by 1 with a two point conversion!!!!!!

Where's the best spot to tailgate? How much does parking cost?
tejas, honestly, as a visitor, probably redfish's crew. It's not where I tailgate (I'm over with another crew closer to the stadium where the team walks by pregame), but they'll have the most food and the most ISU fans, which is what I assume would appeal to you more. They're on the corner of 29th and Dutton, where the old practice fields used to be, next to the reclaimed old school bus painted green and gold.

Oh, and parking in the stadium lot will cost you 10 bucks.

As OP, allow me to come in and say that I was wrong.

Baylor is quite a bit better than I anticipated and expected. Iowa State is not as good as I thought.

Best of luck to the Bears (and to all Baylor fans who posted in this thread, congrats) on the rest of the season as I can definitely see the potential for a very, very solid season.

We are a talented team with no discipline at all. And our Defensive scheme absolutely killed us on the yardage meter. In an effort to take away their air, we gave up way too many yards on the ground.
