I would have to imagine that even Hawkeye fans could see Pollard and Walters were the better men in their altercations with that puke.

I LOVED the day Walters dropped the bomb on him when he was laughing at the Hoiberg hire. He won't be laughing about it this winter.

When Matty first came into the Omaha market, UNL wouldn't return his calls. Coach McCarney would call into his show every week and talk Big 12 football when Nebraska wouldn't.
It's funny because after a year or so he jumped onto the Nebraska bandwagon. Even started referring to Nebraska football as "we"

yea I remember listening to his show in Omaha in 05... There was some good smack talk going on between ISU and Nubby before that game in lincoln... Almost seemed like Matty was pullin for ISU... then I dont know what happened...

I'd rather moderate the mega-thread than spend another second thinking about that worthless bag of skin. I'd rather chow down on 'possum tartare. I'd rather sit through a group therapy session for people with large, festering boils on their buttocks.

We all know that Marty doesn't pull any punches (and can be quite annoying and sometimes unfair to ISU), but he's never done enough to cause Pollard to boycott his show. That says A LOT about how poorly sporttalkmatt (or whatever his username is/was) handled that whole situation.

It's not because Husker coaches and players wouldn't be a guest on Matt's Omaha show or Unsportsmanlike Counduct for that matter because in state, Nebraska coaches & players can only appear on the Husker Sports Network nightly show, Sports Nightly.

Every time I see one of these threads it leads me to respect SportstalkMatt more. When it comes down to it he is an outstanding radio personality if he can get the listening audiences panties in a bunch months after he leaves the market just because his teams are doing poorly and things he commented against are doing well. He didn't even do anything personally to spark this conversation.

Congratulations to him on being to manipulate the public so well that he manages to get free publicity and maintain his brand by nothing more than what he talked about on the phone not happening. He has absolutely achieved the sports talk equivalent of a shock jock and will make a living because of it. Kudos to each and every one of us who have posted about him in this thread for helping promote his brand! I can't wait until he comes back to the DSM area because his image here is still so strong.

This is what I'm thinking. It's tough because whether you want to admit it or not, Matt could actually discuss college/pro sports intelligently and had talent, but just chose to alienate guests and occasionally say dumb things.

I really don't know if that's better or worse than a guy like Brinson who is just vanilla and has nothing of note to say at all.

I really feel that KXNO's audience has fallen since Matt left. Brinson just doesn't bring anything to the table. At least Matt could bring up a salient point or two, or "shock" his way into creating more listeners.

Miller and Brinson are just too boring because they are too similar, they are both straight guys.

I forgot all about this guy......biggest db in Des Moines sports talk history. I don't know if it's just me getting older, my tastes changing, etc but I've rarely listened to KXNO since Deace left the afternoon show.

I did listen the other day and they had AA and some former QB from Iowa on the show. It was pretty entertaining. I may have to start tuning in again.

Agree here. Listened to the show regularly and never really had an issue with Matt. He dished it out evenly so I never took the ISU hate personally like others here. He could be unprofessional at times and was often oversensitive/defensive but Matt actually had sports radio talent, IMO, something KXNO needs badly these days.

Between T+T and Brinson, it's getting downright unbearable on 1460.
