No this isn't a Hawk fan thread.

I was driving home last night with my 4 year old and Baba O'Riley came on the radio. He asked me to turn it up, then said, "dad, who sings this song." I responded, "The Who" to which he responded, "Who sings the song?" I said, "the name of the band that sings this song is The Who." He said, "that's what I wanna know. Who sings this song." This went on for another 30-45 seconds. Think of a musical version of Who's on First. My 8 year old was laughing her *** off the whole time and by the time it was all over, we were all giggling like school girls.

I know, I know, cool story bro. Just one of those parental moments that I don't think I'll ever forget. Thought I'd share.

Kids are great. They definitely can turn the tide of a ****** day sometimes.

Kids' stories are great. I have a 7 and a 3 year old. The other day my 7 year old was trying to explain how far we are from the sun. She says, "Charlie, the sun is very far away. It would take us days to get there." She then explains to him how hot the sun is. "Charlie, you wouldn't want to be close to the sun anyway. The sun is very, very hot. It's even hotter than Texas." Unreal what they can come up with.

I had the same conversation with my 3 year old one night. It was so funny to listen to her keep asking, "No, I want to know the name of the band!!" Love what kids say.

My daughter could read way above her paygrade, when she was about 6. She read me a knock-knock joke from a book. Knock-knock, who's there. Atch. Atch - who. Geezindeheet. I said "What??" She says, "Geezindeheet!" I looked at the answer.

Another daughter of mine, about 5, asked while we were driving, "Are there any Indians?" My wife and I went into a lengthy explanation about dot versus feather, and when we were done, she says, "NO!! ARE THERE ANY INDIANS?" To which we replied,"Yes there are."

On the first day of school, I walked my kindergartner (Addie) there. When I got home I asked my 3 year old: Well Ellie, its just the 2 of us. What do you want to do?
Her Reply: Let's go get Addie

My 6 six year old was home with the croup the last couple of days. I was home with him Monday, and he had a bad coughing fit. When he was done coughing, he put his hand on his heart and said "whew, she's still pumpin'". I was in stitches.

No, 'cool story brah' needed for this.

It's the simplest things that make a difference in life, that can totally change your day from a horrible one to a good one. In fact, just reading your conversation put a smile on my face.

Girlfriend and I were watching our friends kids and this was a conversation with the 6 year old boy:

GF- "What do you want to do, play Wii, play a board game, play trucks..."

at this point their golden retreiver walks by

Me- "... ride the dog around like a horse?"
6 yr old- "Dogs don't like it when you try to ride them like a horse"
6 yr old stares at the floor for a few seconds then says "That was a bad decision"

Got a report from daycare that our 4 year old daughter was calling her friends "annoying". After several incidents, daycare provider told her that even though her older brother may call her annoying, it wasn't nice to call her friends annoying. To which our daughter said, Thomas (older brother) doesn't call me annoying, my mom does. :wideeyed:

Badda Bing!!

That's a great one too! I'm still laughing. As someone said earlier, the stuff they come up with just amazes me.

I've heard a similar story to this from a lot of parents:
Happened to me several months ago.
Riding in van with my then 2 year old.
She Says: I'm blessed.
I'm thinking to myself that this is an awefully profound thing for a 2 year old to say, so I say: Aw that's nice. What happened that makes you think you're blessed?
My daughter replies: I need a Kleenex, I blessed (She had sneezed. Still calls sneezing "blessing")

D'oh! Can't believe he passed up that opportunity!

:biglaugh: Holy crap, that's funny!

My father in-law works near a plant that puts out a lot of smoke. My son sincerely believed his grandpa worked at the cloud factory...where they make clouds.
