Anybody get this pre order yesterday? I did

What do people think? Personally I'll be happier when we get 3G in Ankeny....

Ok, maybe you can explain this to me alittle.

Why would you buy a 4G phone when you live in an area that doesn't even have 3G coverage?

iPhone 4 is not 4G.

It's simply called iPhone '4' because it's the 4th generation iPhone.

I thought it was supposed to be 4G. Well, so how much I follow/care about Apple, I would care more if I had a better internet connection.

Yeah, Apple is the king of iterative product development.

"We have the technology to give you 20 great features in this phone! But for the first iteration, we'll only give you 4. We'll still charge you full price though!"

1.5 years later..

"We are now giving you our new product that has 8 of those 20 great features we could've given in the first iteration, but didn't! And we'll charge you full price again. Maybe more!"

So yeah. Apple is lucky that they actually make a good product, and can pull that crap off. GREAT money-making business moves, but can really **** you off.

I bought the HTC Evo and love it. Battery life is pretty bad but with the upgraded battery(3500mah from my old htc, just waiting for the new back plate from seidio.) I now have zero complaints about the phone.

Unfortunately for them, android has caught up, and the Evo4g, which has better specs, and is more open, released a week before the iphone 4. At the rate android is improving, iphone 5 will have to be a major improvement or it wont even be close.

I don't know why anyone would get a phone that can't get 3G in Ankeny (AT&T), when I can get 3G from Verizon on my farm in Crawford County. Keep in mind, Crawford Co. is an hour and a half from any city (Omaha, DM, & Sioux City)

3g Verizon is not equal to 3G AT&T in terms of speed. Plus I have Edge it's just slower. But I use wifi where I am so really not a big deal.

I love the marketing coming out in fanboys in both Apple and Android. Android people see their phones and think "open". Apple people see their phones and think style. People are subjects of great marketing campaigns.

I buy iPhones over the android phones simply because it works better for me and I feel has a nicer platform. You may agree or disagree but it's a matter of opinion because the tech and software is pretty much the same now days.

I buy Android because AT&T sucks :mask:

AT&T doesn't have a 4G data network anywhere in the country yet, let alone in Iowa. If there is actually a chance of a 4G iPhone coming out, it would have to be on Sprint right now, they have about 40 markets up and running today. Verizon is ready to start rolling out there 4G network in 2011. AT&T is bringing up the rear and probably won't start a 4G rollout until 2012.

So, if the iPhone stays tied to the AT&T network, I would guess you won't be sitting in your living room in Central Iowa doing some 4G web surfing with an iPhone until 2014, or 2015. So no need to wait on that, go get a new phone today, your contract will be up before this happens!

Are you shutting off the bluetooth, wifi, 4G, and GPS radios when you aren't using them? I've heard with doing that the device will make it through the day no problem. And really that is all I need, since I've started using smart phones I've always charged them every night.

Also, where did you buy your extended battery? I don't think Sprint sells them yet, but I would like to pick one up when I upgrade to the EVO next month.
