Meteor

I'm bummed I missed it. The stupid dog always wants to go out when I'm having a beer watching sports, but she couldn't have just wanted a walk when a freaking meteor hit?

I'm starting to think it burned up in the atmosphere, despite the size.

One report states, "Pilots in the Madison area report that they saw the object in the air, but do not believe it struck the ground."

And you would think by now, nearly two hours later, there would be some report if pieces hit anywhere near a town.

Sitting outside Friley, and just talked to a girl from Waukon that said it hit the golf course in town. Her sister and friend are working at the Casey's there and said they felt the whole town shake. Doesn't sound like it hit anything of importance or caused any damage. I win!

I live about 15 miles from Waukon and I am pretty sure I would have heard something from my Fbook friends who live there if it hit the golf course. I didn't see it but I heard and felt the house shake...apparently the sonic boom??? I am not 100% sure, but I don't think it hit Waukon.

From what I have heard from friends in the media it sounds like it went down somewhere in Southwestern Wisconsin, several reports from the Grant County area to Prarie Du Chene (sp?) here is a link to a radar loop from WREX in Rockford Illinois. Toward the end of it you can see something pretty intense suddenly show up and disappear over that area very quickly...more than likely is the meteor.

Imagine being up in the plane looking out the window.

I live west of Dubuque.

I heard a loud boom at about 10 o'clock like something fell on the roof. The window shook a little bit. I found out later it was a sonic boom from the meteor.

I think there was more than one because my brother mentioned that he said it sounded like thunder outside. I looked outside and of course the sky was relatively clear. This was before I heard the big boom.

Does Casey's drug test?
