Tim Floyd new coach at UTEP

It will only be a matter of days before he buys another player and UTEP is good again.

Man had no problems at Idaho, New Orleans, ISU and most of his tenure at USC. Don't really see Floyd involved in the OJ Mayo debacle.

Nice agenda post.

Can you now provide proof that OJ Mayo took bribes from Floyd?

Great point Yoda. Floyd left USC because he felt the AD Garrett and other administrators didn't support him.
Floyd knew about the NCAA investigation a full six months prior to it becoming public, and he could have left for the Arizona or Memphis jobs (both of which were offered to him) in the meantime. He could have run off, but he stayed at USC. Doesn't sound like a coach who's "guilty" to me.
Also, the NCAA hearing on the one violation that involved Floyd was heard a month ago - we'll see if Floyd is implicated at all.
I would welcome Tim Floyd back at ISU with open arms. I would love it.

Hmmmmmm.

I think the hiring of Tim Floyd as UTEP's next basketball coach says more about UTEP, than it does about Floyd, at this juncture in his basketball coaching career.

I do not wish to cast aspersion's to Mr. Floyd's character, but, if you Google "USC basketball Tim Floyd", and read the articles that have been written about his departure, I think you would have to admit there might be reason to question his moral compass, with regard to winning at all cost.

There is smoke ......... scumbag agent in his office, the schools' self imposed loss of scholarships, the subsequent loss of the basketball teams wins, etc.

There are people who are/were very close to the basketball program at Iowa State that could tell you after Tim and Larry left, that they were more than just "controversial" in the ways in which they managed the ISU program during their tenures.

I think and feel that there certainly are people who will eventually look the other way when they see a house burning, as long as it isn't their own house.

Just my opinion, of course.
Go Cyclones.

How do you know? Maybe he just moved on and stayed one step ahead of "the law"?

Nice agenda post.

A Panther fan on a Cyclone message board posting about how a former ISU coach pays his players to win. You really don't see the agenda? Really?

As for "one step ahead of the law", I have no idea about your possible felonious past, so does this principle apply to the masses? Maybe you are a serial rapist always "one step ahead of the law."

What relevance does this comment have?

The bottom line is that Floyd is a short-timer wherever he goes...for some reason. I don't know if he is cheating or not...and neither do you.

I think I heard that Floyd is still fighting the charges leveled at him at USC. Now I don't know all the details (most of us don't) then I think you have to wait to determine what really went down. Someone else posted he was never in trouble in his prior coaching stints - so this would be his first offense if true. Just so everyone is clear I liked Floyd - agenda or no agenda.

Not a very well researched article by Greg Doyle. He claims that opposing coaches were lining up to grab players that TF ran off from Iowa State. The only decent guy who landed somewhere else was Derrick Hayes and Floyd had a legitimate reason for doing what he did. His evaluation was that he inherited 3 PGs - none of whom was a proficient outside shooter. He felt that he could only afford to have one such player on his roster and believed that Jacy Holloway did the best job of running the team.
