How many tickets will be available Aug. 1st?

Has anybody heard how many single game tickets will be available August 1st? It seems to me it's going to get a little tricky trying to balance how many more season tickets to hold back versus how many single game tickets to sell now. I'm just curious to see as a gauge of how many season tickets the athletic department thinks they can still sell. I'm also curious how many fewer people will be at the Iowa game as compared to the rest of the games.

As far as leveraging th e amount of season ticket sales..

IMO - sell 'em all - minus of course the obligations (students, band, faculty, tents, opposing fans, etc).

I'd be ecstatic to find out you couldn't buy single tickets for any game - meaning we sold out the stadium in season tickets. That would be a very special day in ISU athletics.

Some may not like to see that - I know it would make it harder for some to see games - that's part of growth and what we hope to be - a lot of success.

Cyclone fans should be dreaming of a time when ISU football is a tough ticket to get.

Even if we were to sell out season tickets, there will still be individual game tickets available from scalpers, friends, internet, etc. so people who do live far away would have a chance to see a game.

Right, I agree that if we could sell out with season tickets that would be great. But since the athletic department is planning to sell singles starting August 1st, they're obviously not planning to sell out season tickets. I was just curious if anybody knew how many singles they were planning to sell so I knew how much they expected to fall short by.

This is pure speculation on my part but I would guess that they will hold back about 1000 $350 tickets to continue to sell and that way the department can advertise that there are only so many season tickets (and seats for the Iowa game) left to buy. In addition they could do the same thing for hillside tickets.

I just hope that high season ticket sales dont lead to smaller crowds for the rest of the games because people bought for just one game and are too lazy or just havent sold their tickets for the rest.


OU and Texas are much more important to me this year than the Iowa game.

Does anyone have any idea what order, section wise, they follow in terms of selling non-donor season tickets and individual tickets.

I bet they'll hold some considering the UNI game will be a sellout.
