My MBB Predictions

I don't see 22-9 getting a 5 seed. No real quality wins predicted. Schedule strength is good, but you also have to win some of those tuffies.

Agreed, but as a BCS conference school with that schedule I would see us as a 7 or 8 at worst if this played out

I hope we can pull the upset against Texas. I'd take that as an early birthday present.

Only 1 home loss? That would signal the official return of Hilton Magic.

Chris, I see you have us losing to Missouri.

Why??? Just curious, have to run, but look forward to reading it later.

Can't win every road game. These are pretty unscientific picks guys. Realize that.

This is what's cool about this year's team. There isn't a game on the schedule that is a sure loss. We have the talent to beat anybody on any night.

Any predictions for you cybsball20? As one our more level-headed posters I'd be interested in your take.

The game by game predictions seem conservative. I fully expect us to upset more teams this year. I hope we don't just win the "ones were supposed to". I would like to see us get 2 of the 3 of Duke, ND, and Cal. Also, I think we are capable of beating Kansas 1 of the 2 times we play them. Maybe I'm drunk on Kool-Aid. We need to see upsets!

ill drink kool aid all day. I like getting my hopes up, because im so use to them being shot down so it doesnt bother me.

I concur with you for the most part. To think we're going to roll over everyone on the road is naive if anyone's paid attention to our past history in the Big XII. It's VERY easy to get picked off by lesser teams (see Mizzou/K-State/even Colorado has been a house of horrors for us).

At this point, I see them going 19-12 or 20-11. At that record, they would need at least one win in the Big 12 Tourney to squeak in as a 10 seed.

As optimistic and hopeful as I am about this team, I really need to see them play some quality opponents. Rebounding is still a really big concern. The health of Dendy is another question mark. And, I think Gilstrap needs to step up and be that second consistent double figure (14-15 points) scorer next to Brackins.

Other question marks remain on the depth at point guard (can Colvin/Buckley give quality minutes in the conference), free throw shooting (hasn't been good so far) and post defense -- have Brackins/Hamilton improved and can Dendy defend guys like Aldrich and A&M's big man (forgot his name, the dude that looks like he is 60).

Chris, I like your picks. However, I am not ready to put this team in the Sweet Sixteen quite yet. We have only played three games. We do seem to be playing very well for this early in the season. I just hope if we do make the tourney we avoid an 8 or 9 seed at all costs. That almost always results in a second round loss against a top seed. I would much rather be a 10 seed than an 8 or 9.

I'm a dreamer, I see big things with this team. They seem to get along, they play unselfishly, there is depth. As long as they stay healthy, I'll say 25+ wins.

I don't see us losing a game until Duke, and I think we'll have a real good shot at beating them. A far a the Big 12 goes we should finish in the top 4. Too many teams are counting on freshman post players who were highly recruited, but I don't like freshman bigs be counted on through the rigors of conference play. Kansas and Texas will be tough and after that I think it will be up for grabs between Iowa State, Oklahoma, an K-state. I'm figuring around 25 wins going into the tournament. Check my previuos posts if you wish because I don't miss very often.
