The wife and I specifically chose a November game to cook the main course for our tailgate group because we wanted to make a big pot of chili. Now that the weather is going to be in freaking 70's we are kind of stuck without a backup plan.

So do we still make the chili or do we scramble to come up with something else?

Eat the chili in the morning, brats in the afternoon, bathroom at night...

it's still going to be cold early on, like before 9am. plus, is there ever a bad time to eat chilli? I'll sit by the pool in the middle of summer with a margarita in one hand and a bowl of chili in the other!!

Make the chili, like it was said above it's always good! Just thinking about it is making me hungry, now I'm goinna have to make some!

yep, i just wrote the list out of thing I need, I'll be going to the grocery store within the hour...... CHILI!!

Just make a smaller batch if you're really worried.
Throw in some good hot dogs, buns and cheese. That way people can eat it as chili
cheese dogs.

I vote for the chilli cheese dogs, what time and location should we meet you.

Let me think back to a few repetitive facts.

This is iowa.
It is november.
This weekend will be very unusually warm.

So next weekend will be very cold.
Mark it down

Have my grocery list done to run up today and get the stuff for chili too. Was going to back out due to the nice weather and decided not too. We have some guests from Sioux City that are joining us and they are bringing smoked ribs...yummy!!!!

Chili and Chilly are two seperate words. Also Chile is not the same either.

it doesn't have to be cold to make it - as long as you make way to much and you go easy on the beans.

As long as you have beer to go with it, and put in lots of peppers and garlic, you'll be fine. As long as these factors are present, chili can be consumed in any weather.

I will defer to the wisdom of the board and go with the chili. I will begin slicing 3lbs. of top round and 2 lbs. of pork loin into cubes around 4 this afternoon - a 3.5 gallon pot of goodness will be simmering by 6!

Make the pot of chili, have the option of chili cheese dogs too, have some cold beer and margaritas, maybe a platter with some cheese and sliced up sausage, some crackers, maybe some sticks of deer jerky, some cold beer, maybe some rum and coke, and a grill with some burgers and brats, maybe some more cold beer, and some chips and dip, maybe a turkey leg, and some cold beer and you will have a happy tailgating group!!

Um CHILI!!! and where will you be tailgating?

Gardner - we specifically planned this weekend as we knew you were not around.

Actually - there will be 4 whole bell peppers in the chili - I know you won't eat anything that is green so don't feel too bad.
