That $30K covers entry into something like 8 tournaments (that don’t charge extra for admission to watch BTW), coaches, and refs for games. What non-rec league sport is cheaper?

Not this World Cup. Been great. Seen my share of 0-0 games in the past with stoppages every 30 seconds on a foul. Boring.

The really depressing part isn't the loss. Its the feeling the USMNT hasn't closed the gap with the European teams in the last couple of decades.

The US being mediocre is a big part of the problem. That last World Cup Final was as exciting as any football game I've ever seen. When the goods teams play its a way different game.

Baseball looked at their sport and realized one of the killers was the dead time between pitches so more action would happen. Every pitch has a chance for some big action. Baseball figured out how to keep the attention span of the audience. Soccer needs to find something like that if they want to keep the average viewer watching.

Comments like these make me feel like Ray Kinsella. People all around me but can't see the players on my field of dreams.

Soccer is great as it is. It doesn't need to make changes to keep the average viewer watching.
