Mosquitoes

I moved into my current house in 2008, and it's maybe 10 blocks from my other house and for some reason, almost no mosquitoes despite the fact that I had them over there. No idea why.
Mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water and don't venture very far from where they are born. No standing water near your property and the likelihood of mosquitoes drops drastically. Maybe there was some sort of standing water near the other property.
That's how they keep mosquitoes away at Disney World even though it is built in a swamp. All the water features there are in constant motion so no breeding grounds.

Really no standing water to speak of at either place, though my old place is flatter ground, so that might have held some water in places more often.

You could try the Bucket of Doom. There are mixed reviews, but it's a lot better than fogging/spraying, which will kill a lot of insects, including other pollinators and beneficial species.
Skeeters and deerflies are high quality bird food especially those full of hemoglobin.

I abandoned a paddle in campsite two years ago because of mosquitos. There was quite a bit of high/standing water and at dusk when the wind stopped it was still 70 degrees and humid all night and they were the worst I've ever experienced.

Forexast was the same the next day/night so I took off the next morning and found a hotel. The rest of the trip if I even heard one I was like Smokey in Friday.

Call the grounds keepers at Disney World. Whatever they are doing works.

True enough...... Ive kind of always thoughts bats were neat. About 4 years ago we built a bat house and put it up in our yard. Not sure if it works or not.......but we have a pretty good share of bats living in it and at night we see them come out and fly around. Bats eat mosquitos so in theory I sit back and drink beer watching them ... in my belief....pick off mosquitoes. It's like I have my very own anti mosquito air force!
