I mean, it what world did it seem like Ballesteros was scoring on that bunt? If that can't happen, was PCA just counting on a throwing error to 1st?
I think there's probably no thinking on that one. Oof.
I mean, if the bunt gets past the pitcher, it’s probably a base hit and is an RBI (base hit or not), but he should be thinking bigger in that situation because the pitcher is on his heals and PCA has power to all fields. A bunt needs to be perfect for that to work, and while PCA is talented, he’s no Brett Butler.

7th inning great at bat by Nico....hits the ball behind the runner and gets Swanson to third, and then Swanson scores on a wild pitch....very very few guys do that anymore....that is how you play baseball

Watched the entire game last night and it had a fun, old school vibe. No home runs for the cubs, tons of singles and doubles, lots of walks drawn, good base running, and solid defense. Was a fun one, especially with a pro-Cub crowd on an opponent’s field.

Watching Foul Territory. Mooney said Ramirez has been playing in LF.

My thought is If you platoon him with Shaw next year the guy sitting on a given day is a super utility.

To whomever was mad I said Jamos contract isn’t going to age well.

His 6.39 xFIP is a full run worse than any other qualified pitcher in the league.

He’s going to have good games. He’s also going to single handedly take you out of games often.

the thing that really bothers me about challenging ball/strike calls is that the robo ump knows immediatley whether it is a ball or strike. they dont have to run it through this 5 second charade of a delayed animation to call it. it is known before the homeplate ump can say what he thinks it is.

so just go to a full robo ump system, cause they are still missing plenty of calls and its dumb that those are missed when we clearly have the tech to call it to within a tenth of an inch every pitch immediately after it hits the mit.

not that anyone asked or cares what my opinion is, but it really bothers me when a pitch is challenged and then the very next pitch is also missed.

Agreed. It's stupid. It's going to eventually be all robocalled anyways. Let's just get on with it.

It’s the delayed graphic that bothers me the most. MLB is just trying to present the illusion that this isn’t 100% ready for the big leagues for every pitch.

Pretty sure that wasn’t me. lol

Seriously what tends to piss me off the most about him is it seems he’d rather miss right down the pipe instead of wide. We’ve been bombarded by Shota's improvement with his reduction in his strike %.
